Job description
- Advise on and choose the right headless CMS configuration for the client's editorial team - the content model and editing experience need to be genuinely client-friendly, not just technically functional
- Configure headless WordPress as the content CMS based on that recommendation
- Work hand in hand with our front-end designer throughout the build - translating and iterating on the design system together rather than working from a handed-off, finished spec
- Build a custom Next.js frontend from Figma design files provided by our designer
- Build out motion and interaction: scroll reveals, page/section transitions, and a hero video
- Deliver a fully responsive build across desktop and mobile
- Build and wire up three forms - careers application, contact, and general inquiry - with proper validation and submission handling
- Run a full QA pass across browsers and devices
- Run a performance pass (load times, Core Web Vitals, image/asset optimization)
- Handle deployment and provide a clean handoff (documentation, environment setup, and any necessary access/credential transfer)
- Represent NIMBL Studio professionally in client calls and communication - this role is client-facing and white-label
Requirements
NIMBL Studio Limited is looking for a senior technical consultant (7-10+ years of experience) to build a new website on a headless WordPress + Next.js stack, working closely alongside our front-end designer throughout the build. This is a white-label engagement - you'll be working under the NIMBL Studio name, and the role is client-facing, so strong communication and professionalism matter as much as the technical work. Development timeline is 2-4 weeks, so we need someone who can move quickly without cutting corners. This is a fixed-price project to start, but we're specifically looking for someone we can build an ongoing relationship with - if this goes well, there will be more projects., * 7-10+ years of professional web development experience
- Comfortable collaborating directly and continuously with a front-end designer, not just executing a static handoff
- Familiarity with Figma - able to work directly from Figma design files (inspect specs, pull assets/tokens, follow component structure) since that's how designs will be delivered
- Available to complete development within a 2-4 week timeline
- Proven experience configuring headless WordPress as a CMS (e.g., WPGraphQL or the WP REST API), and the judgment to recommend the right approach for a non-technical, client-side editorial team
- Ability to explain CMS/content-model tradeoffs in plain language to a client - not just implement a stack someone else specified
- Strong hands-on Next.js/React experience, including building from a defined design system rather than a generic template
- Experience implementing web motion/animation (e.g., GSAP, Framer Motion, or similar) - scroll-triggered reveals, transitions, and video-driven heroes
- Experience delivering pixel-accurate, responsive, cross-browser builds
- Experience building and integrating web forms, including validation, spam protection, and submission handling (email and/or CRM integration)
- Comfort running QA and performance passes and addressing findings
- Experience deploying and handing off production sites, with clear documentation
- Strong verbal and written communication - comfortable being client-facing and working under a white-label/consultant arrangement where you represent our company, not your own
- A portfolio with examples of headless WordPress/Next.js or comparable JAMstack builds
Nice to Have
- Prior experience as a white-label or subcontracted consultant for an agency
- Background in motion/interaction design, not just implementation
- Familiarity with SEO and analytics setup on headless/JAMstack builds
- Experience with Vercel or similar deployment platforms, * A brief note on your relevant experience with headless WordPress and Next.js builds
- Links to 2-3 live sites you've built on a similar stack, ideally including any with motion/animation work
- Confirmation you're comfortable with a white-label, client-facing arrangement
- Confirmation you can commit to a 2-4 week development timeline starting soon
- Your years of relevant experience, * WordPress Development: 7 years (Preferred)
- Next.js: 5 years (Preferred)
