Job description

A QA Automation Engineer at Snowbird Agility thrives in an exciting, fast-paced environment, working remotely. A QA Automation Engineer is a professional who applies engineering principles to the design and development of software tests. Their primary goal is to automate the testing process to identify bugs and issues before the software reaches end-users, ensuring the product's quality and reliability. They are responsible for defect tracking, bug fixes, system maintenance (i.e. - releases, patches, upgrades) and deployment., The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Drives the software quality assurance lifecycle within an Agile process.
  • Designs and implements automated testing for new and existing features.
  • Utilizes software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the automation testing environment leveraging industry best practices in test automation frameworks and tools.
  • Continuously improves automation strategies for efficient testing.
  • Creates, maintains, and executes automated test scripts to ensure software quality.
  • Establishes test strategies and designs test plans and cases.
  • Collaborates with developers and QA teams to identify test requirements.
  • Analyzes test results and reporting defects.
  • Ensures comprehensive test coverage and regression testing.
  • Troubleshoots automation issues and updates scripts as needed.
  • Documents testing processes, test cases, and results.
  • Enhances and maintains automated CI/CD flows.
  • Integrates automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Works individually or as part of a team.
  • Reviews and tests software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results.

Requirements

  • Five (5) years experience with QA automation practices leveraging multiple platforms for browser and mobile applications
  • Three (3) years experience as a Software Development Engineer in Test.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (Java, Groovy, Ruby, Python).
  • Experience with web application testing and Continuous Integration processes.
  • Experience with version control, defect tracking, and test management tools (GIT, Jenkins, Jira).
  • Knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases.
  • Takes initiative, detail-oriented, problem solver, willing to ask questions, clear communicator.
  • High emotional intelligence and sensitivity.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and mentoring skills.
  • Able to analyze, think quickly and resolve conflict.
  • Able to adapt to a changing environment.
  • Skilled at supporting multiple clients at a time.
  • Self-motivated, and able to maintain a professional, positive, "can-do" attitude while staying focused in the middle of distraction.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
