Job description

Join GDIT to support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) through the NEDIIS program. As the Cloud Network Security Architecture Manager, you will lead secure network and cloud architecture design, TIC 3.0 modernization, and enterprise gateway operations across hybrid and multi-cloud environments. You will guide security decisions, ensure compliance, and support mission-critical connectivity for VA OIT.

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Lead secure architecture design across AWS, Azure, and VA enterprise networks.
  • Guide TIC 3.0 modernization and support gateway operations.
  • Manage security, compliance, and performance across cloud and hybrid environments.
  • Partner with engineering, cyber, and operations teams to align solutions with VA objectives.
  • Communicate risks, architecture decisions, and technical impacts to leadership.
  • Evaluate new technologies, coordinate pilot efforts, and recommend modernization strategies.
  • Support high-level troubleshooting and escalations for cloud network security and gateway issues.
  • Contribute to reporting, documentation, audits, and configuration reviews.
  • Lead gateway redesign or refresh efforts as needed.
  • Mentor engineers and promote secure architecture best practices.
  • Assist with requirements development, design documentation, and validation planning.

This role will require you to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Security Suitability and will require you to provide onsite fingerprinting at a designated facility. This investigation may review personal and criminal behavior, financial conduct, foreign influence, as well as other adjudications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Prior work designing or supporting federal-grade perimeter security (e.g., Zero Trust, encrypted traffic inspection, identity-centric access controls, cloud boundary protections) that aligns with TIC 3.0 requirements is highly desired.
  • Experience designing or managing cloud, network, or security architectures.
  • Hands-on familiarity with AWS, Azure, hybrid networking, firewalls, DNS, and identity/IAM concepts.
  • Understanding of cloud security principles and federal cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Experience with automation, scripting, or infrastructure-as-code tools.
  • Ability to coordinate across multiple teams and communicate clearly with stakeholders.
  • Ability to support escalations or critical events when needed.

  • AWS Solutions Architect - Professional
  • Azure Solutions Architect Expert
  • VMware certifications
  • Kubernetes/CKA/CKAD or OpenShift
  • Terraform Associate, 10 + years of related experience

This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
