Job description

Energy Fuels is a leading producer of critical materials, including rare earth elements and uranium, with a growing domestic and international footprint. The IT Manager is responsible for leading and managing all IT operations, technology services, and user support activities across Energy Fuels' locations.

Working in partnership with the Director, Global IT, this role is responsible for the successful delivery of global IT strategies, standards, and initiatives within the business while ensuring local technology needs are effectively supported.

The IT Manager serves as the primary IT leader for operations, providing leadership across infrastructure, cybersecurity, business applications, end-user services, vendor management, and technology improvements. This role works closely with business leaders to understand operational needs, strengthen technology capabilities, and deliver IT services that are reliable, secure, and efficient., IT Operations Leadership

  • Provide leadership and oversight for all IT operations supporting Energy Fuels' locations.
  • Ensure reliable delivery of IT services, infrastructure availability, and user support aligned with business requirements.
  • Establish and maintain effective IT operational processes, service standards, and support practices.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for business leaders regarding technology priorities, issues, and improvements.

Global IT Alignment and Execution

  • Partner with the Director, Global IT to execute global technology strategies, standards, and initiatives across operations.
  • Ensure implementation of global IT policies, cybersecurity requirements, technology standards, and governance frameworks.
  • Provide local feedback and recommendations to support continuous improvement of global IT services.
  • Coordinate requirements and priorities within the broader global IT roadmap.

Infrastructure and Technology Management

  • Oversee the operation, maintenance, and improvement of technology infrastructure including networks, servers, systems, connectivity, and business applications.
  • Manage technology deployments, upgrades, and lifecycle management activities.
  • Ensure systems are reliable, scalable, secure, and aligned with business needs.
  • Provide oversight and escalation support for complex technical issues.

Cybersecurity, Compliance, and Risk Management

  • Support the implementation and enforcement of cybersecurity policies and controls.
  • Ensure operations maintain compliance with SOX requirements and company security standards.
  • Partner with global IT security teams to identify risks, implement improvements, and support audit requirements.
  • Promote security awareness and best practices across the organization.

Business Partnership and Technology Enablement

  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand operational challenges and identify technology solutions.
  • Translate business requirements into effective IT solutions in collaboration with global IT teams and technology partners.
  • Support digital improvement initiatives that increase operational efficiency and business performance.
  • Provide guidance and recommendations regarding technology investments and priorities.

Vendor and Financial Management

  • Manage relationships with IT vendors, service providers, and technology partners.
  • Support contract management, vendor performance reviews, and service-level expectations.
  • Assist with IT budget planning and ensure effective use of technology resources.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Lead, support, and develop IT resources supporting operations.
  • Establish clear priorities, expectations, and performance standards.
  • Promote a culture of customer service, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant industry experience.
  • Minimum of 8+ years' experience in Information Technology, including at least 3-5 years in an IT leadership or supervisory role.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting mining, mineral processing, heavy industry, manufacturing, or other industrial operations, with a strong understanding of operational technology (OT) environments and the unique challenges of remote and geographically dispersed sites.
  • Proven experience managing enterprise IT operations across multiple locations, including corporate offices, operational sites, and remote facilities.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft enterprise technologies, including Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, endpoint management, and enterprise collaboration platforms.
  • Experience managing enterprise infrastructure, including servers, storage, virtualization, networking, cloud services, backup and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise networking, firewalls, telecommunications, and secure remote connectivity for operational sites.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of cybersecurity principles, IT governance, and security best practices, including identity and access management, endpoint protection, vulnerability management, and incident response.
  • Experience supporting organizations operating within regulated or publicly listed environments, including familiarity with SOX IT General Controls (ITGC), audit processes, change management, and security compliance.
  • Experience supporting enterprise business applications, ERP systems, industrial control systems, SCADA platforms, laboratory systems, or other operational technologies commonly used within the mining industry.
  • Demonstrated success leading IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and business technology projects across multiple operational sites.
  • Strong understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM), vendor management, budgeting, asset lifecycle management, and continuous service improvement.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across business and operational teams.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally to company operations as required.
