Job description
FMI is seeking a highly experienced Lead Full Stack Software Engineer to provide technical leadership for enterprise software engineering supporting the government customer. This individual will serve as the Technical Lead for Full Stack Development Engineering and will be responsible for the architecture, design, development, modernization, integration, deployment, security, and lifecycle management of enterprise applications operating within Microsoft Cloud environment.
The Lead Full Stack Software Engineer will collaborate closely with the Senior Microsoft Cloud Engineer to ensure enterprise applications remain fully integrated with Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID, enterprise security services, DevSecOps pipelines, and cloud infrastructure.
This position requires an experienced technical leader capable of designing enterprise-class software solutions while mentoring development teams and providing technical guidance throughout the engineering lifecycle., * Serve as the Technical Lead for all Full Stack Development Engineering (J5) activities.
- Lead enterprise application architecture, software engineering, and modernization initiatives.
- Design, develop, enhance, integrate, test, deploy, and maintain enterprise software applications.
- Lead front-end, back-end, API, middleware, database, and Azure application development.
- Develop scalable enterprise applications supporting Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365.
- Design RESTful APIs and enterprise integration services.
- Develop secure cloud-native applications using Azure App Services, Azure Functions, and related Azure technologies.
- Lead software modernization efforts for existing enterprise applications.
- Perform application architecture assessments and recommend modernization strategies.
- Coordinate software engineering with Microsoft Cloud Engineering (J4) activities.
- Ensure applications integrate with Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Graph, Azure services, enterprise databases, and external systems.
- Implement secure software engineering practices throughout the SDLC.
- Lead peer code reviews and technical design reviews.
- Establish application coding standards and software engineering best practices.
- Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines supporting automated software delivery.
- Lead application testing, integration testing, regression testing, and production validation.
- Coordinate production deployments and production readiness reviews.
- Develop engineering documentation supporting long-term sustainment.
- Mentor software engineers and provide technical leadership across development teams.
- Participate in engineering governance meetings and customer technical discussions.
- Support operational engineering, production troubleshooting, software optimization, and continuous improvement.

- U.S. Citizenship

- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related discipline.
- 10+ years of progressively responsible software engineering experience.
- 5+ years leading enterprise software engineering teams.
- Experience designing and implementing cloud-native enterprise applications.
- Experience supporting Federal Government IT environments.
- Experience integrating enterprise applications with Microsoft cloud platforms.
- Experience modernizing legacy enterprise applications.
- Experience developing secure REST APIs.
- Experience supporting production enterprise applications.
- Experience leading technical discussions with Government stakeholders.
