Job description
The Cloud Engineer operates under minimal supervision in an agile team environment and plays a pivotal role in building, maintaining, and improving our operating environment across cloud platforms. This position is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and administrating technical solutions primarily hosted on cloud-based platforms with primary focus on the AWS platform.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement technical efforts to design, build, and deploy cloud-hosted solutions
- Participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle for cloud-based solutions
- Educate teams on the implementation of new cloud-based initiatives, providing associated training when necessary
- Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements and standards
- Troubleshoot issues and outages and assist other teams with troubleshooting and root cause analysis
- Partner with colleagues to help each other grow expertise in legacy, current, and emerging technologies
- Build and maintain documentation of internal systems and usage of external systems
- Assist other teams with troubleshooting and root cause analysis
- Provide advanced technical support when needed by other teams or your team
- Perform routine and scheduled audits of all systems, including backups
Requirements
- Working knowledge of cloud services
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code
- Experience transforming legacy on-prem solutions to properly designed cloud-based solutions
- Knowledge of system security, data backup, and recovery
- Familiarity with various operating system platforms
- Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Experience with cloud-compatible monitoring tools and logging solutions

Education Preferred: 4 year degree preferred in Computer Science, Information Technology/Systems, or other related field. Certification in Cloud Technologies is required.

- A minimum of two years of Cloud-technology experience required.
- Experience working in an Agile environment preferred.
