Job description
- We are seeking an experienced Engineer to join the team as an Email Security Engineer to support the administration, security, and ongoing enhancement of our enterprise email environment. This role will focus on protecting the organization's messaging infrastructure from evolving threats, improving security controls, and supporting operational excellence across the email ecosystem., * Administer and optimize enterprise email security platforms and services.
- Monitor, investigate, and respond to email security events, including phishing, malware, spoofing, and business email compromise (BEC) attempts.
- Work with rule/policy development, URL/Attachment scanning, Virus/Spam evaluation, Quarantined email processing, Sandbox containment, Log Analysis and Tracking, and other general security principles
- Understanding of event correlation and forensic investigation to identify threat vectors and indicators of compromise (IOC)
- Configure and maintain email authentication technologies, including SPF, DKIM, and DMARC.
- Develop and implement policies to improve email security posture while minimizing impact to end users.
- Analyze email security trends and recommend improvements to controls and processes.
- Collaborate with security operations, infrastructure, networking, and messaging teams to resolve issues and implement enhancements.
- Support incident response activities related to email-based threats.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and implementation guides.
- Participate in security assessments, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience with email security technologies and best practices. Experience with enterprise email platform administration, scripting, and automation is highly desirable., * Educational requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Management Information Systems, Information Security, or Information Technology, or equivalent work experience required
- 3+ years of experience supporting enterprise email security environments.
- Strong understanding of modern email threats, including phishing, malware, spam, impersonation, and account compromise.
- Experience administering one or more enterprise email security platforms (such as Proofpoint, Microsoft Defender for Office 365, Mimecast, Cisco Secure Email, or similar).
- Thorough understanding and extensive experience in deploying and troubleshooting SPF, DKIM, and DMARC
- Solid Email Security and Networking experience- TCP/IP, Firewalls, DNS, SMTP, HTTP/S, PKI, Load Balancing
- Familiarity with Microsoft Exchange Online and Microsoft 365 messaging services.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Industry recognized security certifications including CISM, CISSP, CSSLP, and CEH are considered a plus.
- Experience administering enterprise email platforms (Exchange Online, Microsoft 365, or hybrid Exchange environments).
- Experience with scripting and automation using PowerShell, Python, or similar languages.
- Experience automating operational tasks, reporting, and security workflows.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Graph API or other email-related APIs.
- Experience integrating email security tools with SIEM, SOAR, or ticketing platforms.
- Understanding of identity and access management concepts related to email systems.
- Relevant industry certifications (Microsoft, Security+, CISSP, GIAC, etc.) are a plus.

Pay: $65.00 - $68.00 per hour
