Job description

The Traffic Infrastructure Technician provides field service and application support for the Traffic Solutions Business Unit, primarily serving Departments of Transportation and ITS System Integrators. Main Tasks

  • Provides technical application support and consultancy to customers and system integrators, addressing inquiries related to application usage, site selection, and infrastructure requirements, including software interfaces, electrical systems, piping, network setup, cabinets, and control room configurations.

Conducts remote and on-site site inspections to verify compliance with site specifications and access/road conditions in accordance with established checklists.

Delivers on-site support during installation of sensors and data loggers, including calibration and commissioning activities, while also preparing installation reports and executing warranty and acceptance procedures.

Conducts training for new customers on the use of Kistler technology and supports successful integration of Kistler solutions into customer ecosystems.

Maintains and manages the installed base as well as the product knowledge database.

Gathers customer feedback and communicates potential business opportunities to the sales team, while contributing field insights to support product enhancements and new product development.

Continuously learns and supports additional Kistler products as required to accommodate seasonal workload variations.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering discipline from an accredited four-year college or university.

Experience in measurement technology and field installation work.

Structured, customer-oriented, and hands-on approach to problem-solving and execution.

Experience applying transducers and related electronic systems in measurement applications.

Solid technical understanding of transducers and associated electronic components.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Willingness and ability to travel within North America, including overnight stays, as required (up to approximately 70%).

Occasional international travel may be required.

Ability to perform work in proximity to active highways, including during daytime or nighttime operations.

Capability to work in various weather conditions and on elevated or uneven terrain.

Strong commitment to safety in all field operations.
