Job description
The IT Operations Project Manager ensures the successful planning, execution, and delivery of technology projects across computer infrastructure, cloud, and database domains. This role requires a strong command of both Agile Scrum and traditional (Waterfall) project management methodologies, with a heavy emphasis on JIRA as the primary tool for project tracking, sprint management, and reporting. The IT Operations Project Manager collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to drive projects to completion on time, within scope, and within budget., * Leading end-to-end project management for infrastructure, cloud, and database initiatives, from initiation through closure.
- Facilitating Agile Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Applying traditional project management techniques such as project charter development, work breakdown structures (WBS), Gantt scheduling, and risk management planning where appropriate.
- Managing and maintaining JIRA project boards, backlogs, epics, stories, and sprint configurations to ensure accurate real-time project visibility.
- Collaborating with infrastructure, cloud, and database teams to define project scope, objectives, milestones, and deliverables.
- Identifying, tracking, and mitigating project risks, issues, and dependencies, escalating as necessary to leadership.
- Coordinating resource planning and task assignments across technical teams to ensure adequate capacity and delivery timelines.
- Producing and distributing regular project status reports, dashboards, and executive summaries to stakeholders.
- Supporting change management processes related to technology deployments, including communication planning and stakeholder alignment.
- Ensuring project documentation is complete, accurate, and maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
- Travel to EVV twice a year
- All other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of project management experience with a focus on technology projects, including infrastructure, cloud, and/or database initiatives.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Agile Scrum methodology, including experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Project Manager.
- Strong working knowledge of traditional project management frameworks (Waterfall, PMBOK).
- Advanced proficiency in JIRA, including board configuration, backlog grooming, sprint management, reporting, and workflow customization.
- Familiarity with computer infrastructure concepts such as networking, servers, and data centers.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and cloud migration or deployment projects.
- General understanding of database environments and database-related project considerations.
- PMP, PMI-ACP, CSM, or equivalent project management certification preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced technology environment.
- Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills relative to project blockers and team impediments.
- Willingness to work as a team and independently.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
