Job description
Reporting to the Test Automation Lead, the Test Automation Analyst will:
- Review requirements, specifications, and solution designs to ensure appropriate test coverage
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts for UI, API, and backend testing
- Create reusable and maintainable automated test assets to support regression testing
- Integrate automated testing into Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines
- Execute automated and manual testing activities where appropriate
- Manage defects, analyse root causes, and work collaboratively with delivery teams to resolve issues
- Ensure full traceability of testing activities against requirements and specifications
- Produce test reports and provide progress updates to Test Leads, Managers, and project stakeholders
- Create and maintain formal test documentation, including test plans, completion reports, framework documentation, and testing standards
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and promote automation best practices across the organisation
Requirements
- Experience developing automated tests using C#, .NET, and NUnit
- Experience using Playwright for web UI automation
- Experience working with APIs and backend testing techniques
- Knowledge of SQL for test data validation and database testing
- Experience working with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and source control systems
- Familiarity with PowerShell scripting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment as well as independently when required
- Good understanding of test automation frameworks, methodologies, and best practices
- Experience producing test documentation and reporting on testing progress and outcomes
- Exposure to the Finance sector and Life & Pensions industry would be advantageous
- A genuine interest in technology, software quality, and test automation
Desirable:
- ISTQB Certification would be advantageous
