Job description

Reporting to the Test Automation Lead, the Test Automation Analyst will:

  • Review requirements, specifications, and solution designs to ensure appropriate test coverage
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts for UI, API, and backend testing
  • Create reusable and maintainable automated test assets to support regression testing
  • Integrate automated testing into Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines
  • Execute automated and manual testing activities where appropriate
  • Manage defects, analyse root causes, and work collaboratively with delivery teams to resolve issues
  • Ensure full traceability of testing activities against requirements and specifications
  • Produce test reports and provide progress updates to Test Leads, Managers, and project stakeholders
  • Create and maintain formal test documentation, including test plans, completion reports, framework documentation, and testing standards
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and promote automation best practices across the organisation

Requirements

  • Experience developing automated tests using C#, .NET, and NUnit
  • Experience using Playwright for web UI automation
  • Experience working with APIs and backend testing techniques
  • Knowledge of SQL for test data validation and database testing
  • Experience working with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and source control systems
  • Familiarity with PowerShell scripting
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment as well as independently when required
  • Good understanding of test automation frameworks, methodologies, and best practices
  • Experience producing test documentation and reporting on testing progress and outcomes
  • Exposure to the Finance sector and Life & Pensions industry would be advantageous
  • A genuine interest in technology, software quality, and test automation

Desirable:

  • ISTQB Certification would be advantageous
