- Troubleshoot software issues across various operating systems including Windows, macOS, and Linux, ensuring minimal disruption to end-users.
- Resolve hardware problems related to computer hardware components, peripherals, and network equipment.
- Configure and maintain computer networks, including LANs, VPNs, firewalls, and other security measures.
- Assist with desktop support tasks such as installing, updating, and repairing software applications like Microsoft Office suite.
- Perform basic troubleshooting of network connectivity issues involving LANs, VPNs, and firewall settings.
- Support the setup and maintenance of operating systems and hardware components in a mixed environment.
- Document technical issues and solutions accurately to facilitate ongoing support efforts.
- Communicate effectively with users at all levels to explain complex technical information clearly and courteously.
Requirements
- PROVEN experience in technical support or IT support roles, ideally within a help desk environment.
- Strong understanding of computer networking concepts including LANs, VPNs, firewalls, and network security protocols.
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting software across Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems.
- Familiarity with computer hardware components and peripherals.
- Experience using ticketing systems such as BMC Remedy, ServiceNow or Jira for issue tracking.
- Knowledge of operating systems management including installation, configuration, and maintenance.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to deliver exceptional customer service in a professional manner.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
