Senior IT Engineer - Servers

• We will rely on you to design, install and support server infrastructure across our Council estate.
• We will expect you to provide hardware and software support.
• We will expect you to deliver second- and third-line operational support.
• We will rely on you to resolve service requests, incidents and complex technical issues in a timely manner.
• We will expect you to support our Microsoft and Linux server environment across two datacentres.
• We will require you to travel between Council offices and schools as service needs arise.

• We are looking for an experienced IT professional with strong technical expertise in server infrastructure.
• We require experience in the design, installation and ongoing support of server environments.
• We require experience with both Microsoft and Linux servers.
• We require experience working across physical and virtual server platforms.
• We ask applicants to clearly evidence essential and desirable criteria from the Job Description and Person Specification, particularly common and server team experience.
• Access to a vehicle or pool car is necessary, as travel to Council offices and schools will be required.
• Regular in-person attendance in Lochgilphead is essential, alongside a hybrid working arrangement.
