Applicants must be eligible to work in the specified location

Data Governance Technical Implementation Lead/Product Owner, with hands-on Python coding experience and SQL, required by a global organisation to own the vision, roadmap, and adoption of a Data Governance product ecosystem spanning data catalogue, lineage, metadata management, data quality, and data contracts. You will need strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to work with Data Stewards, Architects, Security, Compliance, and Engineering teams, alongside a solid understanding of data governance concepts and cloud-based governance platforms such as OpenMetadata, AWS DataZone, or Collibra.

You will need to be capable of coding in Python, writing SQL queries, and engaging with data related technical implementation details. Familiarity with ETL/ELT concepts, data pipeline orchestration, and an ability to interpret architecture diagrams, APIs, schemas, and data models. An understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, monitoring, and observability as they relate to data platforms is required, along with awareness of modern data storage formats, including Delta Lake, Parquet, and Iceberg, distributed compute, and streaming technologies. Experience working in an Agile environment is essential.

The ideal candidate will currently be operating as a Product Owner and have a background in data engineering, with hands-on Python and SQL alongside strong knowledge of data governance, spanning data catalogue, lineage, metadata management, data quality, and data contracts.

You will be responsible for owning the full life cycle of governance tooling - from evaluation and selection through to integration, optimisation, and continuous improvement.
