Job description

As an Oracle OCI Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, administering, and optimizing Oracle Cloud Infrastructure environments that support critical enterprise applications and databases. You will provide technical leadership across cloud infrastructure, database administration, middleware management, automation, and disaster recovery initiatives. This role requires extensive hands-on experience with Oracle technologies, cloud services, and enterprise-scale environments to ensure high availability, security, performance, and operational excellence., * Design, implement, and manage Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) environments including database, middleware, and infrastructure services

  • Administer and support Oracle Database environments, including Container Databases (CDB) and Pluggable Databases (PDB)
  • Plan and execute Oracle Database upgrades, migrations, and conversions, including upgrades from Oracle 19c to Oracle 26ai
  • Develop, deploy, and maintain Oracle APEX applications and Oracle REST Data Services (ORDS) solutions
  • Configure, administer, patch, and maintain Oracle WebLogic Server environments
  • Implement and manage Oracle Data Guard configurations for data protection and disaster recovery
  • Perform database backup, recovery, replication, and cloning activities using RMAN and related tools
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize database and middleware performance across enterprise environments
  • Utilize Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) for monitoring, management, and operational support
  • Implement PSU patching strategies using Fleet Management tools and established maintenance procedures
  • Automate infrastructure and operational tasks using Ansible, shell scripting, and GitLab-based workflows
  • Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and DevOps teams to support application deployments and platform modernization initiatives
  • Design and maintain high-availability and disaster recovery solutions
  • Ensure adherence to database security best practices, governance standards, and operational procedures
  • Provide proactive troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and support for critical production environments

Requirements

  • 10+ years of hands-on experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and Oracle technologies
  • Strong expertise with Oracle Application Express (APEX) 18 or higher
  • Experience with Oracle REST Data Services (ORDS) 22 or higher
  • Extensive experience administering Oracle WebLogic Server 14 and Fusion Middleware environments
  • Strong experience with Oracle Database 19c and Oracle 26ai environments
  • Experience managing Container Databases (CDB) and Pluggable Databases (PDB)
  • Proven experience upgrading Oracle databases from 19c to 26ai
  • Strong Linux/Unix administration skills including shell scripting
  • Experience with PDB cloning, RMAN backup and recovery, and Oracle Data Guard
  • Hands-on experience using Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) 24ai
  • Experience performing Oracle database patching using Fleet Management tools
  • Experience supporting Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS) environments within OCI
  • Proficiency with GitLab repositories, CI/CD practices, and Ansible automation
  • Strong understanding of cloud architecture, infrastructure design, and operational best practices
  • Expertise in database performance tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting
  • Experience implementing high-availability and disaster recovery solutions
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
  • Ability to support critical production systems and participate in 24/7 operational support when required
  • Oracle certifications such as OCI Professional, OCP, or OCE (preferred)
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized environments (preferred)
  • Experience with CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins or GitLab CI (preferred)
  • Understanding of microservices architecture and API integrations (preferred)
  • Experience with Python or JavaScript scripting and automation solutions (preferred)
