As a(n) Software Engineer Principal within PNC's Data and Automation organization, you will be based in Dallas, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Strongsville-OH or Birmingham., We are seeking a Software / DevOps Engineer with strong experience building containerized applications and automated delivery pipelines in environments that run on Red Hat OpenShift. This role focuses on using and deploying to OpenShift, not administering or supporting the OpenShift platform itself. You will work closely with platform teams while concentrating on application containerization, image creation, and CI/CD pipelines that deploy reliably into enterprise OpenShift environments. The ideal candidate understands how applications run on OpenShift, how to package them correctly, and how to integrate them into secure, automated delivery pipelines., * Aligns business strategy with software solutions.

  • Proposes, designs & codes software solutions to address complex business needs. Oversees technical and procedural documentation required.
  • Leads complex problem solving.
  • Provides technical guidance and support to colleagues and solution development.
  • Displays an innovative approach to apply modern principles, methodologies and tools to advance business initiatives and capabilities.

Requirements

a. Experience deploying or running applications on Red Hat OpenShift b. Strong experience with container image creation c. Strong experience with Spark, Trino, Airflow, and Iceberg d. Proven experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines e. Solid understanding of Kubernetes concepts from an application perspective f. Experience with Git and modern development workflows g. Experience with Helm or templated Kubernetes/OpenShift deployments h. Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills, Successful candidates must demonstrate appropriate knowledge, skills, and abilities for a role.
