Job description

Executing automation workflows for high-throughput reaction screening activities as well as solid-dispensing.

Execute robotic workflow for high throughput execution and analysis

Maintain the laboratory space, including stocking supplies, keeping work areas tidy, and managing waste containers

Assist in the development and implementation of automation platforms for small-molecule process research and development
Requirements
-
MS or BS degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, biochemical engineering, or related applied science field
-
Scientist 2, BS with 1-2 years of relevant experience; MS with no experience
-
Scientist 3, BS with 3-5 years of relevant experience; MS with 1-2 years of experience, + At least 1 year of previous laboratory experience

Hands-on experience with HPLC/UHPLC/MS (ultra / high performance liquid chromatography / mass spectrometry) systems, highly preferred
-
Understanding of organic chemistry or materials characterization sufficient to support chemical process development using automation platforms
-
Experience handling chemicals

Experience with wet chemistry techniques

Strong organizational skills, including the organization and management of shared laboratory spaces
-
Strong attention to detail, including careful reading of equipment manuals and effective troubleshooting of new instruments and systems

High self-motivation and a commitment to continuous improvement

Strong observational and problem-solving skills

Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
Desired Skills and Experience

Prior experience with robotic or automation platforms in a laboratory setting, highly preferred
-
Ideal candidate has an aptitude or desire to learn programming for various robotic platforms and use that skill set to help solve complex chemical problems

Experience with high-throughput experimentation and analysis
-
Programming experience in any language is desired (e.g., Python, C++)

Mechanically inclined, with an aptitude for troubleshooting
