It combines the cool factor of supporting a highly visible, creative environment with the chance to help shape how Design continues moving cloud-first, AI-enabled, and SaaS-first. It is a strong fit for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, working closely with cross-functional partners, and seeing their impact in the day-to-day experience of teams shaping future products.

  • Lead end-to-end production releases for business-critical design and engineering applications, including release planning, deployment coordination, change controls, release communications, and post-deployment readiness.
  • Serve as a senior technical lead for application delivery and operational support, ensuring tools that enable design, engineering, visualization, and product development teams remain stable, secure, and effective.
  • Drive infrastructure and platform modernization efforts, including environment upgrades, hosting changes, migration planning, and alignment to enterprise technical standards.
  • Coordinate software enablement and lifecycle activities such as licensing, packaging, procurement support, workstation readiness, and deployment planning for specialized engineering tools and platforms.
  • Troubleshoot complex production issues across applications, servers, integrations, and connected devices; work directly with vendors and internal support teams to restore service and reduce recurring incidents.
  • Partner with business stakeholders, developers, system analysts, architects, finance, purchasing, infrastructure, and security teams to translate business needs into technical delivery plans and sustainable support models.
  • Manage access, compliance, and technical readiness activities including testing coordination, connectivity follow-up, administrative access validation, and adherence to GM security and governance requirements.
  • Maintain visibility of technical work by aligning delivery activities, backlog items, service requests, and migration efforts with program and portfolio expectations.
  • Support the broader technical foundation of the design and engineering environment, including workstation transitions, software deployments, infrastructure support, and the systems that enable daily operations for end users.
  • Release lead for multiple design and engineering technology solutions.
  • Operational owner for production stability, deployment readiness, and issue remediation.
  • Primary liaison between product teams, enterprise platform teams, vendors, and business partners for technical execution., This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the selected candidate is expected to report to a specific location at least 3 times a week {or other frequency dictated by their manager}.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field; or equivalent work experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Strong systems engineering experience supporting enterprise applications, infrastructure, and production operations in a complex corporate environment.
  • General scripting knowledge with the ability to read, modify, or create scripts used for automation, system support, deployment activities, and troubleshooting.
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills across applications, servers, integrations, storage, and end-user environments.
  • Proven vendor management and cross-functional coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical teams, business stakeholders, purchasing, finance, infrastructure, and security partners.
  • Security and compliance awareness, including the ability to work within GM processes and standards related to access, approvals, sensitive configurations, secret management, passwords, and required documentation.
  • Infrastructure and platform experience, including comfort working with servers, shared storage, cloud-hosted applications, connected devices, and hosted environments.
  • Ability to independently own ambiguous work end-to-end, define next steps, coordinate needed partners, and drive issues through resolution.

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Experience leading software releases, coordinating changes, and managing production deployment controls.
  • Ability to manage technical work across application support, infrastructure modernization, security and compliance tasks, and incident response.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work across operations, finance, purchasing, business, and technical teams.
  • Experience supporting specialized design or engineering technology environments is strongly preferred.
