Job description
We are looking for Mid, Senior, and Principal SDET / Tools Engineers to join the Core Tools Team working on a large-scale Unreal Engine 5 open-world project. The Core Tools Team develops and maintains the engineering tools that artists, designers, QA specialists, and developers rely on to create, validate, optimize, and ship content at scale. These tools include editor extensions, asset validation systems, pipeline automation, content-capture frameworks, workflow integrations, and automated testing solutions. Depending on your level, you'll either contribute to well-defined features, own complex tools and subsystems, or help shape technical direction, architecture, and engineering standards across the team. For which tasks (responsibilities)?

Design, develop, and maintain tools used across the project

Build Unreal Engine 5 editor and runtime features using C++

Develop Python-based tooling and automation solutions

Integrate tools with Perforce, REST APIs, CI/CD pipelines, and internal services

Create automated tests and maintain tool quality

Participate in code reviews and technical discussions

Collaborate closely with artists, designers, QA, gameplay, and engine teams

Investigate and solve technical challenges across tools, pipelines, and workflows

Contribute to improving engineering processes and development efficiency Senior and Principal-level engineers will additionally:

Strong modern C++ skills

Hands-on experience with Unreal Engine 5
Requirements

Experience with: o Editor plugins o Runtime modules o Unreal reflection system o Slate/UMG or Dear ImGui o Subsystems and Actors o Editor scripting and automation

Python scripting and tooling experience

Experience with REST APIs and JSON integrations

Familiarity with Perforce workflows

Understanding of 3D content pipelines and game production workflows

Experience writing automated tests

Strong problem-solving skills and ownership mindset
