Job description

At Zinco, we're building the back-office of the future for millions of small businesses: accounting, taxes, payroll, financing (all powered by cutting-edge AI and a team of advisors who truly understand what matters to clients).

We're early. We move fast. And we're looking for someone who thrives in that environment, not despite it.

Your job isn't just to write code, it's to solve data problems. That means asking the hard questions before touching a keyboard, understanding the why behind every request, cutting scope ruthlessly when needed, and shipping things that actually move the needle.

You'll architect pipelines that collect and transform fragmented financial, tax, and payroll data into a unified model that feeds our AI agents, analytics, and automations.

You'll connect systems, standardize schemas, and ensure data quality, availability, and traceability - enabling our advisors and AI agents to act with precision and context.

What you'll do

  • Design and evolve the data models that power financial, tax, and payroll intelligence.
  • Build data pipelines to clean, transform, and enrich structured and unstructured data.
  • Create data-driven automations that trigger insights, actions, and communications across systems.
  • Build and deploy AI and automation agents that use this data to perform operational tasks at scale.
  • Collaborate with AI, Product and Operations teams to identify opportunities to use data for automation and decision-making., * Real problem, real users: You won't be building in a vacuum. You'll work closely with the accountants, advisors, and small business owners who use what you ship - understanding their pain firsthand, and turning it into solutions that actually work for them. These are people running real businesses, and getting it right matters.
  • Flexibility & hybrid work: we believe in ownership and responsibility over schedules. We trust people to manage their time and deliver results. We also value working side by side: we enjoy being together in the office to collaborate, think, and build as a team.
  • Tools & setup: AI-first tools and workflows, latest-generation hardware, and everything you need to work faster and better. If a tool helps you move quicker or think clearer, we want you to have it.
  • Growth & development: You'll have a dedicated training budget to invest in whatever helps you grow. We're clear about where we are and where we're going as a company, and you'll have periodic performance reviews to support your development and career progression.
  • Compensation: We believe in a meritocratic culture: your impact and results directly shape your growth and progression. We also offer flexible compensation (transport, restaurants, and other benefits) to make your day-to-day easier.

Requirements

  • Strong experience in data engineering, including ETL, APIs, and database design.
  • Strong experience working with SQL databases (BigQuery, Postgres) and building analytical pipelines.
  • Proven experience with a pipelines orchestrator (Airflow, Dagster) in Python.
  • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform data-related services (BigQuery, GCS, Data Stream, etc.).
  • Comfortable integrating and transforming data from multiple systems (APIs, CRMs, ERPs, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of data security and privacy, especially for sensitive financial data.
