As a Junior Data Scientist, you'll be part of a small but experienced team, working at the intersection of business impact and machine learning. You'll develop and deploy operational Machine Learning models that directly support and optimize all areas of our business - from pricing and personalization to forecasting and marketing., As a Junior Data Scientist, you'll spend your time not only developing models and working with data, but also collaborating closely with stakeholders across the business. Success in this role requires curiosity, strong communication skills, and the ability to build relationships with colleagues from different departments. You'll work together with teams such as Pricing, Marketing, Product, and Commercial to understand business challenges and translate them into data-driven solutions.
In this versatile role, you'll work hands-on with data, create and implement ML models, communicate your findings to stakeholders, and develop the tools and dashboards that bring your insights to life.

Your Responsibilities
- Design, test, and deploy scalable Machine Learning models.
- Perform data analysis and build data pipelines.
- Translate results into clear insights through dashboards and presentations.
- Support your models in production - from functional queries to technical troubleshooting.
- Explore new ideas and continuously improve existing solutions., Please note that due to the summer holiday period, live interviews with the hiring manager will be scheduled from week 34 onwards. We appreciate your patience and look forward to reviewing your application.
Our interview process includes the following steps:
- An initial conversation via video Teams with our Talent Acquisition Intern (week 32- 33)
- A (technical) interview with our Head of Data Science live at our office in Rotterdam (week 34 - 35)
- Meet your future colleagues and learn more about the team (week 35 - week 36)
Requirements
This position is well-suited for candidates who have recently completed their Master's degree or are at the beginning of their professional career in Data Science., * You recently completed a MSc degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Econometrics, Mathematics, Artificial Intelligence, or a related quantitative field at a Dutch university.
- You are legally authorized to work in the Netherlands without sponsorship.
- You are passionate about turning data into practical business solutions and are eager to see your models running in production.
- You enjoy working with people just as much as working with data. You are a social, approachable, and proactive communicator who knows how to connect with stakeholders across different departments.
- You are curious, analytical, and not afraid to ask questions to fully understand a business challenge.
- You can translate complex findings into clear insights and recommendations for non-technical audiences.
- You are comfortable balancing longer-term projects with ad-hoc business requests.
- You have strong communication skills in English. Dutch language skills are preferred but not required.
- Experience with Python, R, SQL, Power BI, Databricks, BigQuery and/or Microsoft Azure is a strong advantage.

- Monthly gross salary between €3500 and €4000 plus 6 ATV days (based on full-time employment, excluding 8% holiday allowance). Please note: ATV days do not apply to part-time contracts.
