Infrastructure Specialist Location: London Role Type: Contract - 12 months Work Setup: Hybrid - 3 days in the office

The Role Our client is a large multinational firm that provides a range of financial services, including advisory, investment, and asset management solutions. It serves a diverse set of clients worldwide, focusing on strategic planning, market operations, and long-term financial growth.

What you'll do

• Develop and maintain infrastructure automation using Python, Perl, Shell, Ansible or Terraform.
• Support the deployment, maintenance and optimisation of enterprise load-balancing infrastructure.
• Build automation that integrates with configuration management and monitoring platforms.
• Work closely with architects, developers and operational teams to deliver reliable infrastructure solutions.
• Investigate technical issues and implement improvements to enhance stability and performance.
• Gather technical requirements from stakeholders and translate them into scalable infrastructure designs.

What you bring

• Experience as an Infrastructure Automation Engineer, Platform Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), DevOps Engineer, or in a similar infrastructure engineering role.
• Strong automation and Scripting skills using Python, Perl and/or Shell, with hands-on experience of Ansible and/or Terraform.
• Solid knowledge of Linux/Unix administration and networking, including TCP/IP, HTTP and SSL.
• Experience supporting enterprise infrastructure, with exposure to F5 or A10 load balancers highly desirable.
• Understanding of distributed applications, virtualisation or container platforms, version control, CI/CD and SDLC practices.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced enterprise environment.
