Job description

The Project Manager, Physical Security Guarding Operations position reports to the Physical Security Sr. Manager. This position is responsible for proactively protecting people, assets, intellectual property, and information to achieve the strategic goals and mission of AVANGRID. Specifically, this position is responsible for security operations and the planning, implementation, and integration of security systems across AVANGRID facilities. The position requires working in a multi-site environment, law enforcement engagement, and interaction and oversight of contractors providing guard services and field construction services., This position works closely with the corporate Physical Security Team in achieving department goals:

  • Create and execute strategies to improve the reliability and effectiveness of physical security systems at existing and new projects.
  • Define, implement, and maintain corporate security rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Lead vulnerability audits, forensic investigations, and mitigation procedures.
  • Respond immediately to security-related incidents and provide a thorough written post-event analysis and identify potential areas of improvement.
  • Act as security liaison with key stakeholders and other company business units relative to implementation of physical security systems.
  • Support security organization training in security awareness, rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Support administration of department budgets and staff schedules.
  • Evaluate and identify threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Implement and maintain effectiveness measures, standards, guidelines, and procedures to ensure security compliance with corporate and government regulations.
  • Recommend security improvements; ensure that technology decisions made are compliant with enterprise security architecture.
  • Resolve enterprise and departmental security issues, incidents and events, concerns, or questions.
  • Effectively execute department strategy/goals to drive organizational performance.
  • Provide management with timely updates on programs and projects.
  • Special projects and assignments as business dictates.
  • Travel to operations centers, substations and other facilities will be required to address security concerns and security projects.
  • Establish liaison contacts with federal, state, and local law enforcement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Criminology, Homeland Security, or related field; or 10 years relevant security related work experience is required.
  • Work experience in Law Enforcement, or related governmental agency with at least 3 years' experience in a leadership role, is required.
  • Ability to obtain Secret Security Clearance, as necessary., The Project Manager, Physical Security should have experience working in a multi-site security environment, knowledge of contract security guarding programs and operations and security management systems such as access control and video management systems. In addition, the job requires the following skills and abilities:
  • Global view of business and security threats.
  • Reliance on experience and technical knowledge to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Experience in developing and executing security contract guarding programs (from policy to operations).
  • Experience performing risk assessments and site inspections.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to effectively plan and execute multiple events simultaneously.
  • Ability to analyze financial and operational needs of individual business segments and their impact on combined businesses.
  • Successful record of leadership, team building, motivating, and leveraging external partners to achieve organizational goals.
  • Advanced crisis management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate and build successful partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Solid computer, verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Confidentiality and discretion., * PSP, CPP or similar certification, working knowledge of the CFATS and the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) standards is .

The salary range for this position is dependent upon experience, ranging from $116,640 to $145,800.
