Job description
As a Senior Data Scientist at Micron, you will employ techniques and theories drawn from areas of mathematics, statistics, semiconductor physics, materials science, and information technology to uncover patterns in data from which predictive models, actionable insights, and solutions can be developed.
You will interact with experienced Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Business Areas Engineers, and UX teams to identify questions and issues for data analysis projects and improvement of existing tools. In this position, you will help develop software programs, algorithms and/or automated processes to cleanse, integrate, and evaluate large datasets from multiple disparate sources. There will be significant opportunities to perform exploratory and new solution development activities.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Develop systems to optimize operational performance across manufacturing platforms. Design, build, and deploy predictive models related to equipment utilization and performance enhancement.
- Analyze manufacturing data to identify bottlenecks and optimization opportunities for both short-term and long-term planning.
- Build and deploy LLM-based AI solutions to support fab operations, enabling smarter decision-making and improved operational efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with PMs, IT, and Core AI teams to drive cross-functional AI initiatives.
- Build interactive dashboards and visualizations to support data-driven decision-making.
- Work within the GCP environment for model training, deployment, and maintenance.

Requirements
- Master's degree or above in Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, or related fields
- 3+ years of experience in data science
- Proficient in Python, SQL, TensorFlow or other deep learning frameworks
- Skilled in data visualization tools
- Strong communication skills and experience in cross-functional collaboration, * With a proven track record in the semiconductor industry
- Familiarity with MLOps, CI/CD, and model deployment/monitoring practices
- Experience with AutoML, reinforcement learning, or generative AI applications
- Knowledge of MES, SPC, EDA systems integration in manufacturing environments
- Participation in large-scale AI projects or platform development
- Proficiency in Angular for front-end development
