Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled, hands-on QA Automation Tester to join our team for a 1-year contract engagement with the potential for extension.

In this role, you will ensure that new systems meet functional requirements while verifying key service qualities-such as performance, scalability, extensibility, maintainability, security, and interoperability. You will combine strong manual testing experience with automation expertise, reviewing existing systems and leveraging new technologies to drive continuous improvement., * Automated Testing & Frameworks: Design, develop, and maintain UI, Back-End, API, and hardware test automation using industry-standard tools and frameworks.

  • Collaboration & Requirements Review: Review system requirements, test scripts, and test scenarios to design robust testing workflows. Collaborate with developers, Product Owners, and operations teams to optimize QA strategies.
  • End-to-End System Testing: Create automated test case scenarios for Agile delivery teams to meet Acceptance Criteria. Generate unit tests, regression tests, load tests, code coverage reports, and test scenario pass/fail metrics.
  • Compliance & Compatibility: Perform tests to ensure ADA/508c compliance, cross-browser compatibility, and mobile responsiveness.
  • Maintenance & Integration: Assist in QA processes involving the migration and integration of legacy and new technologies. Ensure all test libraries and artifacts are maintained in a current state.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience utilizing the Azure DevOps suite (Azure Boards, Repos, Pipelines, Test Plans, and Artifacts).
  • 5+ years of experience in automated testing with UFT (Unified Functional Testing) and VBScript (or another programming language).
  • 5+ years of experience with Automated Testing Frameworks, Manual Testing, test methodologies, and test strategies.
  • 5+ years of experience working within Agile Methodologies (including participation in at least two large-scale Agile software development projects).
  • Strong knowledge of web application testing, distributed system testing, database testing, and security/accessibility testing.
  • Thorough understanding of standard QA best practices, including authoring test plans, tracking defects to closure, and continuous integration methodologies.
  • Excellent abstract thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills. Must be proactive, self-directed, and able to perform with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical familiarity with C#, .NET, WebAPI, SOAP, XML, JSON, jQuery, and JavaScript.
  • Testing experience with Web Services (REST, SOAP, WCF) and tools such as SoapUI.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce, SharePoint, or MuleSoft integrations.
  • Strong SQL skills and familiarity with database design or data modeling.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field of technology (or commensurate professional experience).

Additional Requirements

  • Candidate must successfully pass standard background verifications, including a criminal background search, reference checks, and a 10-panel urine drug screening prior to onboarding.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card holder) and local to the Connecticut area.
  • Location: Hybrid (Hartford, CT - Minimum 20% on-site presence required)
  • Schedule: Full-Time, 40 hours/week (Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST), * AGILE - Agile Development Methodology (Required 4 Years)
