GDIT is seeking qualified candidates for a Network Engineer at the Fort Wainwright Mission Training Complex (MTC) under the Mission Training Complex Capabilities Support II (MTCCS II) program. GDIT provides individual sustainment and collective Mission Command training, leadership development, Warfighter Functions (WFF) training, delta training, first-person simulations (gaming), and constructive simulation support from squad level through Echelon Above Brigade (EAB). Responsibilities include technical integration between simulation and C4I systems, establishing and maintaining training and exercise networks, and executing Risk Management Framework (RMF) Certification and Accreditation activities.

MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT:

Network design : Design, plan, implement, and oversee classified and unclassified MTC WAN/LAN networks supporting voice, data, and video services for exercises and events.

External network integration : Manage MTC use of networks owned by external organizations, including NIPR, SIPR, tactical networks, and others as required.

Cross-site coordination : Coordinate network design, requirements, and responsibilities with other MTCs, training sites, training units, and external communications organizations.

Architecture and configuration : Design network architecture, develop network plans, configure equipment, and assist with installation of equipment and circuits supporting distributed exercises.

Operational and analytical tasks : Install, configure, maintain, and secure networks and associated devices.

Simulation network support : Configure, document, test, troubleshoot, and update network documentation for internal simulation networks, including Cisco firewalls, routers, and switches. Troubleshoot TCP/IP, multicast, UDP traffic flows, and tunneling encryption devices.

Cybersecurity compliance : Apply system updates, quarterly patches/IAVAs, SRG/STIGs, configure access control lists, and analyze or modify network devices and software to meet user and system requirements.

Encrypted connections : Plan, develop, and execute encrypted network connections to external entities supporting constructive simulation exercises. Provide timely troubleshooting and resolution for network issues.

Monitoring and backups : Monitor network performance and conduct scheduled backups and recovery testing.

Requirements review : Review and update network requirements for accuracy and doctrinal compliance.

Special projects : Participate in special projects as assigned.
Requirements
5 + years of related experience, + Education : BA/BS Degree or equivalent relevant years of experience

Required Experience : minimum of five (5) years' related experience in network architecture design, implementation, and management; MTC experience preferred

Required Technical Skills :

Possess advanced knowledge in network planning, troubleshooting and maintenance

Possess knowledge of network hardware and software components

Strong understanding of technology integration, information flow, configuration and implementation of LAN, WAN, DNS, DHCP, firewalls and security, and storage and backup methodologies

Must understand and be able to apply Risk Management Framework (RMF) methodology and the Certification & Accreditation process

Must have experience in applying network patches and STIGs and performing other RMF Cybersecurity tasks

Certification : SEC+ required; Meet DoD 8570.01-M Baseline Computing Environment (CE) Certification Requirements at Information Assurance Technical Level II (IAT II), CCNA (preferred)

Security Clearance Level : Secret clearance is required

Required Skills and Abilities :

Experience with tactical networks at the division level and higher

Experience working with Microsoft server platform and Cisco routers and switches

Knowledgeable in MSPP, MPLS, and BGP configurations, architecture, and technologies

Knowledge of specific product lines, e.g., Cisco, Palo Alto, Wire Shark, and Solar Winds

Location : On Customer Site/moderate travel to other customer sites throughout Pacific AoR

The likely salary range for this position is $81,349 - $101,200. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
