Job description
The Network Engineer is responsible for supporting the operation, maintenance, and optimization of enterprise network infrastructure across multiple enclaves. Working closely with the Senior Network Engineer, this role monitors network performance, installs and upgrades network hardware and software, troubleshoots connectivity issues, and ensures network availability, security, and compliance with cybersecurity requirements., * Monitor and manage the performance, availability, and health of enterprise network resources across multiple enclaves.
- Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade network hardware, software, routers, switches, and related infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot network outages, performance issues, and connectivity problems, including support during non-core business hours as required.
- Support network engineering projects and collaborate with tenant agency engineers and stakeholders.
- Configure and support routing and switching technologies, including inter-VLAN routing, VRF routing, and HSRP.
- Perform preventative maintenance and lifecycle management activities for network devices.
- Work with vendors and service providers to resolve technical issues and support infrastructure enhancements.
- Ensure compliance with applicable Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), cybersecurity requirements, and vulnerability remediation timelines.
- Maintain network documentation, diagrams, configurations, and operational procedures.
- Research emerging networking, data center, and service provider technologies to support continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements

Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in network engineering or network administration.

Active Top Secret clearance with TS/SCI eligibility.

Experience supporting enterprise network infrastructure and data center environments.

Hands-on experience with Cisco routers and switches.

Experience with inter-VLAN routing, VRF routing, and Hot Standby Router Protocol (HSRP).

Strong understanding of network protocols, routing, switching, and troubleshooting methodologies.

Current Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification.

Ability to meet DoD 8140 Cybersecurity Workforce requirements.

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Experience supporting Federal Government, DoD, or Department of Navy environments.

Experience with enterprise monitoring and network management tools.

Knowledge of network security principles, STIG compliance, and vulnerability management.

Experience supporting large-scale, multi-enclave network environments.

Additional Cisco certifications (CCNP or higher) preferred.
Salary Disclosure:
Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, geographic location, contract affordability, internal equity, education, and certifications. The upper end of the salary range may be reserved for individuals who have demonstrated tenure with the company, seniority, and proven excellent performance. This includes factors such as education, certifications, and extensive/unique experience beyond what is required.
