Job description
We are seeking a Senior Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Design Engineer to join a multidisciplinary engineering team supporting complex industrial and aerospace testing environments. This role is responsible for designing, analyzing, and implementing instrumentation and control systems that support mission-critical testing operations., * Design, evaluate, analyze, and support the installation of instrumentation and control systems.
- Develop instrumentation and control system designs to meet operational and testing requirements.
- Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, systems, and test engineers throughout the design process.
- Develop system requirements and engineering documentation.
- Design, develop, and maintain instrumentation and data acquisition systems.
- Design and support PLC, DCS, and HMI control systems.
- Develop automated control strategies, logic diagrams, and control narratives.
- Prepare engineering calculations, technical studies, reports, and design documentation.
- Review Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) for instrumentation and control requirements.
- Prepare instrumentation specifications and procurement documentation.
- Review vendor submittals and provide technical recommendations.
- Participate in technical design reviews and engineering issue resolution.
- Support system integration, commissioning, startup, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Foster a collaborative, safety-focused engineering environment.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship Required
- Ability to obtain and maintain a NACI required (Active Secret Clearance preferred)
- No 3rd Parties
- No C2C, * Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering from an accredited university.
- Minimum 8 years of progressive Instrumentation & Controls engineering experience.
- Strong experience designing industrial instrumentation and control systems.
- Experience with PLC, DCS, and HMI platforms.
- Experience with closed-loop and PID control systems.
- Strong understanding of process instrumentation and data acquisition systems.
- Experience reviewing P&IDs, preparing logic diagrams, and developing engineering documentation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a NACI.
Preferred Qualifications
- Active Secret Security Clearance.
- Experience with process control strategy development and system optimization.
- Experience with industrial networking and fieldbus technologies.
- Experience supporting field engineering, commissioning, startup, or plant operations.
- Experience supporting aerospace, defense, manufacturing, utilities, chemical processing, power generation, petrochemical, nuclear, or other large industrial facilities.
