Job description
The Solution Architect will oversee and help the System Integrator drive technical implementation by establishing design standards, validating hosting and integration patterns, reviewing configuration and customization decisions, coordinating cybersecurity, infrastructure, and mission stakeholders, and providing architectural governance throughout implementation and delivery of the MVP. The Solution Architect will also ensure that technical requirements are properly implemented by the System Integrator and that delivery remains aligned to the approved technical vision, security requirements, interoperability needs, and mission outcomes across both unclassified and classified operating environments., * Manage and architect COTS/GOTS or custom solution to be hosted in Army's NIPR and SIPR environments.
- Integrate COTS/GOTS or custom solution with external systems.
- Define solution that will fit Army's requirements for SaaS, PaaS or AWS GovCloud computing.
- Understand and ensure security compliance and solution fit for the Army.
- Lead integration of SaaS COTS solutions, like Salesforce or Appian.
- Provide ROMs (Rough Order of Magnitude) and refined cost models for proposals and migrations.
- Create and update reference architecture documentation, including specifications and diagrams.
- Support Authority to Operate (ATO) documentation and security reviews.
- Design secure connectivity between the application and Army enterprise systems while minimizing public network exposure.
- Define integration patterns using REST APIs, messaging, file transfer, event-driven architectures, and enterprise middleware.
- Define identity and access integration using enterprise authentication services including CAC, Active Directory, Entra ID (where applicable), SAML, OAuth2, and OpenID Connect.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in solution architecture, cloud, engineering, system, application development.
- Experience integrating and deploying COTS SaaS and PaaS systems.
- Experience in architecting custom solutions and deployments in NIPR environments.
- Experience with Amazon AWS GovCloud and knowledge of AWS services and structures
- Excellent architecture skills and ability to develop architecture diagrams.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Active DoD Secret Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active CompTIA Security + certification
- Active AWS Professional certifications
