Job description

The Principal, Technical Program Manager leads complex, large-scale programs by defining goals, managing cross-functional dependencies, and driving end-to-end technology solutions. This role requires expertise in program planning, risk management, and stakeholder engagement to ensure successful delivery within timelines and resource constraints. The position involves translating technical requirements into scalable designs, overseeing system integrations, and promoting operational excellence. The incumbent proactively identifies improvements, mentors team members, and communicates progress to align stakeholders. This leadership role supports continuous innovation and drives measurable outcomes across multiple engineering teams and business domains.

About the team:

The CTS Global Governance team leads enterprise-wide governance by managing complex, cross-functional programs with clear accountability and timely delivery. Operating at the nexus of technology, operations, and business, the team collaborates with product, engineering, and domain stakeholders to align priorities and optimize outcomes. They provide oversight across critical domains such as CSOC, Threat, Computer Vision, and Aviation, ensuring compliance and operational integrity. By standardizing frameworks and continuously improving processes, the team enables Walmart to operate securely, efficiently, and at scale across multiple organizations and geographies.

What you'll do:

  • Lead end-to-end planning and execution of complex, large-scale technical programs spanning multiple organizations, with full ownership of outcomes.

  • Define program strategy, goals, and critical paths to drive predictable, high-quality delivery.

  • Partner across product, engineering, and business teams to translate requirements into scalable, reliable solutions.

  • Drive clarity in ambiguity by managing risks, dependencies, and high-impact trade-offs.

  • Establish and scale governance, workflows, and operating models to improve execution.

  • Leverage modern tools, including GenAI, to enhance planning, automate processes, and improve program visibility.

  • Influence stakeholders, communicate clearly, and mentor teams on execution excellence.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience leading large-scale, cross-organizational programs with complex stakeholder and risk landscapes.

  • Proven ability to define program strategy, scope, timelines, and resource plans while managing dependencies and ambiguity.

  • Strong technical acumen translating product requirements into scalable, reliable systems.

  • Deep understanding of SDLC, cloud platforms, and modern infrastructure.

  • Track record of driving business impact through risk mitigation, financial oversight, and continuous improvement.

  • Influential communicator able to align senior stakeholders and drive execution across organizations.

  • Experience leveraging GenAI and advanced analytics to improve planning, automate workflows, accelerate decision-making, and enhance program visibility at scale., Outlined below are the required minimum qualifications for this position. If none are listed, there are no minimum qualifications.

  • Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or related area and 6 years' experience in engineering, engineering program management, technical program management, product management, or related area.

Bellevue, Washington US-11663: The annual salary range for this position is $132,000.00 - $264,000.00

Bentonville, Arkansas US-09050: The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
