Job description

The Certified Teacher will assist the Principal in providing a positive impact of student learning through enhancing student achievement., Responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Plans a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the needs, interests and abilities of individuals to ensure student achievement.
  • Creates a classroom environment that provides for student involvement in the learning process and enables each student to achieve learning objectives.
  • Provides an instructional program to meet the needs of all students including students with disabilities.
  • Prepares for classes assigned, and shows written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate supervisor.
  • Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and in harmony with the goals, establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects and the like to communicate these objectives.
  • Establishes learning objectives consistent with appraisal of student needs; requirements of the districts curriculum framework, and knowledge of student growth and development.
  • Plans for and utilizes instructional methods, resources and evaluation techniques which motivate and enable each student to achieve learning objectives.
  • Diagnoses the learning disabilities of students on a regular basis, seeking the assistance of Exceptional Students staff as required. Provides input when necessary to students IEP's.
  • Takes all necessary and safety precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
  • Maintains accurate and complete records as required by law, CGUHSD policy and administrative regulation. Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct and, for the classroom, develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.
  • Makes provision for being available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so under reasonable terms.
  • Establishes professional relationships with colleagues, students, parents and community which reflect recognition of and respect for every individual.
  • Plans and supervises purposeful assignments for paraprofessionals and volunteers. May evaluate paraprofessional's job performance with department chairs and/or administrators.
  • Appraises own effectiveness and demonstrates successful application of skills and information acquired to increase effectiveness. Strives to maintain and improve professional competence through professional development.
  • Participates in school management and shares the responsibility for the total school program. Attends staff meetings, PLC's and serves on staff committees as required.
  • Coordinate text book adoption process within department.
  • Capture high-quality photographs of school events, student activities, and portraits.
  • Edit and enhance images for yearbook and digital media publications.
  • Organize, label, and maintain digital photo archives and media files.
  • Coordinate photo coverage schedules to ensure key events are documented.
  • Collaborate with students, staff, and vendors to gather and verify content.
  • Select and prepare images that support accurate and engaging visual storytelling.
  • Ensure photos meet publication, branding, and quality standards.
  • Manage digital media content and assets for yearbook production.
  • Maintain accuracy of captions, names, and event information.
  • Meet production deadlines and support timely yearbook publication.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • Certified calendar

  • Placement on Certified salary schedule dependent upon education and experience.

  • This is a contracted position.

  • Must pass Department of Public Safety IVP Fingerprint clearance check.

  • Must be United States citizen or have valid work visa at date of hire with the ability to maintain. All changes in visa status must be reported to Human Resources immediately. Photo identification and work visa, (if necessary), will be needed for fingerprint clearance card and I-9 documentation prior to first day of work.

EVALUATION:

  • Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION:

  • Proof of Mumps, Measles and Rubella, (MMR) vaccination.

  • Valid government issued identification or current work visa with expiration date.

  • Unofficial copies of transcripts will be accepted with applications, official transcripts will be due upon job offer*

  • Transcripts issued in a language other than English must be accompanied by a full translation, (word for word) by an acceptable translator. Additionally, each foreign transcript must be evaluated for equivalency to United States accredited coursework by an acceptable agency such as those agencies certified by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services, (NACES). Applications containing foreign transcripts that are not accompanied with the above required documentation will not be considered.

Requirements

Qualifications to perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required to be successful:

  • Valid Arizona Teaching Certificate in the appropriate subject area
  • Bachelor's degree in Education required.
  • Valid AZ Department of Safety IVP Fingerprint Card
  • Highly Qualified in appropriate subject area
  • Demonstrates organizational ability
  • Clear and professional communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Experience in photography, digital media, or yearbook production preferred.
  • Proficiency with photo editing and digital design software.
