Job description

  • Develop, modify, and debug PLC control software for General Motors and Ford manufacturing automation projects.
  • Design, configure, and troubleshoot HMI applications using Rockwell and Siemens platforms.
  • Support equipment startup, commissioning, validation, and production launch activities.
  • Diagnose and resolve controls, communications, safety, and automation issues on the plant floor.
  • Apply GM GCCS, GM GCCH, Ford FAST, and customer-specific controls standards throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support industrial automation systems, manufacturing equipment, robotic cells, and production-line controls.
  • Coordinate with electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, project managers, integrators, and plant personnel.
  • Perform field service and onsite support at General Motors and Ford manufacturing facilities.
  • Maintain compliance with LOTO, MPS, machine-safety, and customer-specific safety requirements.

Requirements

Actively seeking experienced Controls Software Engineers with strong General Motors automation, Ford FAST, and industrial controls engineering experience to support current and upcoming project requirements.

This is an urgent need for candidates who can contribute quickly with minimal ramp-up time. Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience with GM controls standards, Ford controls standards, PLC programming, HMI development, software commissioning, and plant-floor support., * Proven General Motors or Ford FAST controls project experience.

  • Current or previous GCCS, GCCH, and LOTO / MPS certification.
  • Hands-on experience with PLC programming, software development, troubleshooting, and debugging.
  • Experience with Rockwell Automation, Allen-Bradley PLCs, Studio 5000, RSLogix 5000, or comparable controls platforms.
  • Experience with Siemens PLCs, TIA Portal, or related Siemens automation software is .
  • Strong HMI programming and visualization-system experience.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting equipment startup, controls commissioning, and manufacturing production launches.
  • Experience working in General Motors or Ford plant environments.
  • Strong understanding of GM controls requirements, Ford FAST standards, machine safety, and customer expectations.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve complex controls and automation issues with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to step into active project work with limited training or ramp-up time.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to travel and provide onsite or field support as required.

High priority will be given to candidates who understand General Motors requirements and can immediately contribute to active controls and automation projects. Candidates with either General Motors or Ford FAST experience are encouraged to apply.
