Job description

Nucor Business Technology (NBT)is seeking qualified applicants for the position ofData Engineer. This position will be responsible for designing and maintaining robust data models that support business intelligence and analytics initiatives, while also contributing to data engineering tasks that ensure data quality, accessibility, and performance. This role will work closely with various teams to ensure business data needs are met.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Design and develop data pipelines that facilitate the collection, storage, and processing of data from D365 and various other sources.

  • Ensure data quality and integrity through robust validation and cleaning processes.

  • Develop notebooks, tables, and views to transform raw data to data models for Power BI and other tools.

  • Create Power BI models to assess the potential impact of various operational analysis, investment decisions, and business initiatives.

  • Develop dashboards, reports, and presentations for stakeholders and provide insights on business performance.

  • Ah hoc requests to support business initiatives.

  • Expected to proactively gather requirements from the business and work independently.

  • Develop technical documents detailing the data ETL process, models, and reports.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US (Nucor Business Technology (NBT) will not sponsor the need for a visa now or in the future).

Requirements

  • 4 Years Experience in Data Engineering\Data Modeling

  • Strong knowledge of SQL or Python

  • Experience with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and tools to manage data flow and transformation such as Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse Analytics/Fabric.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to address data-related challenges effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • D365 entity and table knowledge preferred

  • Experience in the manufacturing or industrial sectors

  • Bachelor's Degree or relevant work experience
