Job description
We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer SME to design, implement, and maintain robust network infrastructures that support our organization's critical operations. This role combines strategic network planning with hands-on technical implementation, requiring expertise in network architecture, performance optimization, and collaborative problem-solving., * Plan network configurations for integration into the network and ensure effective integration and optimal network performance.

Prepare technical proposals for presentation to the Sponsor's engineering review boards for approval prior to the addition of new technologies to the network

Perform operational and maintenance activities

Utilize network analysis tools to identify performance problems in the network

Troubleshoot to restore network to optimal performance levels

Assist and prepare Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

Review user requests for upgrades/additions to the network to assess impact on network performance and provide advice/guidance on the most practical/cost-benefit technical approach

Analyze customer requirements and solve problems with innovative solutions.

Provide expert knowledge for maintenance and upgrade of networks including routers, switches, scripting languages, and networks.

Provide expert knowledge to sustain network integrity and connectivity while ensuring compliance with policies and maintain system backup and recovery capability.

Coordinate the acquisition of hardware and software

Create plans and configure systems for data communication networks.

Design and build hardware and software components for computer or telecommunications networks.

Evaluate new communications technologies to enhance network capabilities.

Stay current on knowledge of relevant technology.

Serve as a task lead and be recognized as a SME in network engineering.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Network Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in network design and administration
- Experience with installation and configuration of Cisco Nexus 5000, 7000, or 9000 series switches
- Experience with installation and configuration of Cisco Catalyst switches
- Experience with installation and configuration of Cisco ASR 100X series routers
- Experience with Cisco Firepower or Palo Alto Next-Generation Firewalls
- Strong knowledge of EIGRP and BGP routing protocols, including appropriate use cases for each
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, routing, switching, and security technologies
- Experience with network monitoring and analysis tools
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills for presenting technical concepts to diverse audiences
- Industry certifications (CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent) preferred
