Job description

We're actively seeking a talented Platform Engineer to join our enterprise technology team. As a Platform Engineer, you'll move Pacific Life, and your career, forward by supporting enterprise end-user service and digital workplace platforms that improve self-service, reduce avoidable incidents and service requests, and enhance the end-user experience.

How you'll help move us forward:

  • Help build, test, deploy, and maintain reusable workflows, automations, orchestration patterns, and AI-enabled or knowledge-driven solutions that reduce manual effort and improve consistency.
  • Develop and maintain operational scripts, actions, and API-based interactions under guidance, following established security, code review, certificate, and access controls.
  • Support platform administration by helping maintain access models, role-based permissions, configuration standards, integrations, data feeds, and operational controls.
  • Contribute to deployment, configuration, lifecycle management, and continuous improvement of platform components across the environment.
  • Develop and maintain metrics, dashboards, and reporting solutions that measure platform health, service performance, operational trends, user adoption, and business outcomes.
  • Translate technical activity and reporting into actionable insights, training materials, and interpretive support that help teams improve operational performance and demonstrate business value.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 0-4 years of experience in enterprise IT supporting end-user services, digital workplace capabilities, platform administration, automation, analytics, or platform-based service delivery, including internships, co-ops, or relevant academic and project work.
  • Exposure to enterprise platforms, including configuration, access management, integrations, operational controls, lifecycle management, or service-dependent components such as agents, connectors, background jobs, or supporting services.
  • Foundational experience building or maintaining scripts, API integrations, workflows, or service interactions using tools or languages such as PowerShell, Python, HTTP-based calls, or similar methods.
  • Familiarity with enterprise identity, access, and governance concepts, including role-based access, operational controls, documentation, and secure administration practices.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills, with the ability to translate data and technical findings into clear updates and recommendations.

What makes you stand out:

  • Hands-on experience with digital workplace platforms, enterprise service management tools, automation platforms, or operational analytics solutions.
  • Experience creating dashboards, metrics, or data feeds that support service performance, adoption, incident trends, or operational decision-making.
  • Curiosity and initiative to identify opportunities for automation, self-service, workflow improvement, and reduction of manual support demand.
  • Interest in AI-enabled, knowledge-driven, or orchestration-based solutions that improve technology operations and the employee experience.
