As risks to our hardware, software, and supply chains continue to rise, our customers require advanced solutions to mitigate growing vulnerabilities and ensure our systems can operate in cyber contested environments. Strong resiliency-focused engineering is essential to protecting Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS) platform/weapon systems from increasingly sophisticated threats. The engineer will be part of a multi-disciplinary engineering team on the Trusted Security Solutions (TSS) Program.
We are looking for professionals to work on Cross-Domain Solution (CDS) products that protect and defend the information flow of critical and time sensitive data on many military applications and networks. This position is on the Radiant Mercury program. Radiant Mercury is the US Navy's premier CDS, and LM has been the prime contractor for over 20 years. Oversee the design, development, documentation, and testing of software that contain solutions to business/mission problems. You will work directly with domain and industry experts as well as technical staff to design and manage software development activities.
WHO YOU ARE As part of the Radiant Mercury Team the selected candidate will be the Software Development Lead, leading approximately 10 direct reports and overseeing multiple projects within the product.
The Work:

Ensuring the organization's staff is meeting all program and business commitments and to work with the Program Leadership team to drive Program Execution.

Managing the staffing and resource allocation within the software domain. This includes recruiting and hiring candidates.

Conducting performance evaluations, promotions, and career planning activities.

Maintaining/updating Software Development Plans and Software SOPs. Ensuring that the Software team understands and follows plans and procedures.

Guiding/mentoring the team on how to do conduct business with our customers, defining processes, and improving when needed with a continuous process improvement mindset.

Gathering, analyzing, and using software and EVM metrics in waterfall, agile, and hybrid program executions.

Inserting Digital Transformation initiatives into software development execution (DevSecOps, Software Factory, Agile, Automated Test, AI).

Design, modify, develop, and implement/integrate software programming applications for target system using agile methods.

Write source code for new applications, and/or generate and enhance code for existing applications.

The work location is at the Deer Creek Facility (DCF) in Littleton, CO with limited ability to work remotely. The Candidate will be required to come into the site to conduct work. Travel may be required for this position.
Requirements

Experience with planning and coordinating software development in a team-oriented environment.

Knowledgeable in Software Engineering Process and Tools, including experience in executing in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.

Experience across the Software Development Life Cycle including a minimum of 8 years of direct software development experience, preferably in C++, Java.

Knowledge of LM and program processes and procedures

Experience with software estimating tools, metrics identification and collection
-
Familiarity with Linux operating systems.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Obtain Security+ certification within 6 months of starting Desired Skills:

Previous Functional Manager responsibilities/experience performing L-Coded responsibilities over a team of at least 10 people. Experience in Planning - Staff, SW Dev tools, maintaining Software Development Plans (SDP)

Understand Software Metrics (SLOC, Defects, Productivity) - gathering, analyzing, and using

Experience with data parsing and formatting techniques

Experience with developing software for secure systems

Experience installing or developing a CDS

Experience in certification and accreditation of a CDS

Experience with government standards and guidelines and their impact to a CDS

Familiarity with cross-domain solutions or other security-focused technologies. Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration. Clearance Level: Top Secret, Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
