Job description

For an innovative software product company in Ghent, we're looking for a Java Developer to strengthen a growing engineering team. You'll contribute to the development and evolution of a large-scale enterprise platform used by organisations across multiple countries. Working alongside experienced engineers, you'll help build high-quality software solutions, contribute to new functionality, and support the continuous improvement of a modern cloud-based product. You'll join an international and collaborative environment where ownership, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning are encouraged. Your responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain high-quality Java applications
  • Design and implement robust backend solutions
  • Build and enhance APIs and integrations with internal and external systems
  • Contribute to architecture and technical design discussions
  • Work closely with product teams, analysts, and fellow developers
  • Participate in code reviews and help drive best practices
  • Contribute to automated testing, CI/CD, and overall software quality

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in Java development
  • Strong knowledge of Java 17 (Java 21 is a plus)
  • Experience with Spring Boot and REST APIs
  • Good understanding of SQL databases, preferably PostgreSQL
  • Familiarity with modern development practices and tools such as Git, Maven, Jenkins or GitHub Actions
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a quality-focused mindset
  • Fluent in English

Nice to have

  • Experience with cloud-native environments
  • Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, or NoSQL databases
  • Familiarity with Angular or other frontend technologies
  • Experience working in Agile teams
