Job description
We are bsport. The place to be bsport is the all-in-one platform for boutique fitness studios - bookings, payroll, marketing, and more - trusted by 7M+ users across 20+ countries. Since our €30M Series B in 2024, we've been scaling hard: new markets, new customers, and infrastructure complexity to match. The Platform team is the connective tissue of engineering at bsport. We own the infrastructure the product runs on, the pipelines that let engineers ship confidently, and the security posture that enterprise customers rely on. We're a small team with a wide blast radius, 1 platform software engineer for 10 product software engineers and we like it that way. About the role Barcelona, Paris, or fully remote from Spain or France. bsport's Platform is at an inflection point. We have a running Kubernetes cluster, CI/CD pipelines, and SOC 2 Type II underway, but most of this was built by a small team juggling Infrastructure, Security, DevEx, and Backend Platform concerns at the same

time. We have solid foundations, but not yet a true platform. That's where you come in You'll take ownership of the platform layer that the entire engineering org builds on, evolving it from a set of working pieces into something coherent, reliable, and genuinely invisible to product teams. You'll operate what exists, fix what's fragile and raise the abstraction level so that engineers ship faster without having to think about the substrate underneath. The scope is wide: cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, database reliability, security posture, developer experience. You'll go deep where it matters most and build the kind of platform that compounds, where each improvement makes the next one easier and where product teams stop opening infra tickets because they don't need to. What you'll co-own - Infrastructure & Reliability: Design and operate our Kubernetes platform on AWS (EKS, Karpenter, Traefik). Own availability, cost efficiency and the failure modes that wake people up at 3 am, then fix them so they don't happen again. - DevEx (Developer Experience): Make engineers faster. Infrastructure AI agents, CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, ArgoCD, Helm), a Kubernetes operator, a Python CLI, local dev ergonomics. The right way should be the easy way. - Security: Own our security posture end-to-end: IAM, Vault, network policies, SOC 2 Type II controls, Gitleaks, Vanta. Make security a natural part of how we ship, not a checkpoint at the end. - Backend Platform: PostgreSQL at scale (CloudNativePG, RDS: migrations, replication, performance), async workloads (Celery, RabbitMQ, Kafka) and the primitives product engineers depend on but shouldn't have to manage. What you'll work on - Operate and evolve our EKS cluster: Karpenter provisioning, autoscaling, cost optimization. - Drive our PostgreSQL platform: migration pipelines, replication, performance, backups. - Build CI/CD pipelines that are fast, reliable and opinionated. - Improve observability: metrics and alerting (Grafana/Mimir/Prometheus), logs (ELK), DB performance (Datadog), traces. - Contribute to SOC 2 Type II controls and security automation. - Write backend platform code in Python or Golang when the problem lives there. - Build internal and AI tooling that makes the engineering team noticeably faster. Tech Stack - Cloud: AWS (EKS, RDS, S3, IAM, CloudWatch) - Container Orchestration: Kubernetes, Karpenter, ArgoCD - Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Terraform, Helm - Ingress & Networking: Traefik - CI/CD: GitLab CI, ArgoCD - Observability & Monitoring: Grafana, Mimir, Prometheus, Datadog, ELK - Secrets Management: Vault - Databases: PostgreSQL, Valkey - Messaging & Streaming: RabbitMQ, Kafka - Backend Technologies: Python, Django, Celery, Golang - Security: Vault, IAM, Vanta, Gitleaks You'll thrive in this role if You're a strong engineer first. Writing code is a part of this job, not just scripts, but production software you ship, operate, and own. We care about clean, testable, maintainable code, including in infrastructure work. A senior backend engineer with solid system design skills who has debugged Kubernetes in production and written Terraform will thrive here. Must-haves - 5+ years in platform engineering, SRE, infrastructure, or backend with real production ownership. - Strong Kubernetes fundamentals: scheduling, resource management, networking, failure modes. - AWS fluency: IAM, networking, managed services, cost awareness. - PostgreSQL at scale: mi
