Job description
Workload: 100% Shape the future of data engineering at Axpo Iberia As a Senior Data Engineer, you will lead the federation layer of Axpo's DnA Platform, enabling domain teams to build, deploy, and govern data products securely and efficiently. Join us to drive innovation, operational excellence, and collaboration across Axpo's global data landscape. What you will do: - Define and maintain technical standards, templates, and reference implementations for consistent onboarding of data products. - Design and optimize reusable data pipeline patterns (batch, streaming, event-driven) using Databricks Workflows, Delta Lake, and Structured Streaming. - Build secure ingestion and transformation pipelines with embedded data quality checks, lifecycle policies, and governance aligned to Unity Catalog. - Develop platform automation (e.g., CI/CD templates, environment provisioning) and monitor cost-efficiency practices across compute, storage, and pipelines. - Collaborate with cross-functional

teams to align platform evolution with business needs and drive continuous improvement. - Support analytics, ML, and GenAI workspaces with reusable templates and best practices for AI adoption and operational readiness. What you bring & who you are: - Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. - 5-8 years of experience in data engineering, with expertise in Databricks, Azure, and CI/CD. - Proven track record of building and optimizing large-scale data pipelines (batch, streaming, event-driven). - Deep knowledge of Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, and orchestration frameworks, plus experience with FinOps and cost management in cloud environments. - Familiarity with Databricks Feature Store, MLflow, Mosaic AI, and Genie Spaces for AI enablement. - Strong leadership and mentoring abilities, with a proactive and analytical mindset. - Excellent communication skills in English (mandatory); German or Spanish is a plus.
