Job description
This is the kind of role that appeals to engineers who like building real products and want to stay close to the full development process. You will work in a smaller technical environment where your work has visible impact, you can take real ownership and contribute ideas that actually get used. The role is also broad in scope, from embedded software and communication protocols to wireless connectivity, Android, PC applications and even reverse engineering. That makes it a strong fit for someone who enjoys variety, likes to understand systems in depth and prefers creating real-world technology over working on something abstract or far removed from the product.
Requirements
We're looking for an embedded software engineer who likes building real products, not just moving tickets around in Jira all day.
This role is with a smaller and ambitious technical company that develops innovative products for a specialised industrial market. You'll be part of the R&D team and work on a mix of embedded software and UI-related applications, while staying close to the full product development cycle.
What makes this role interesting is the variety. One moment you're working on embedded software, communication protocols or wireless connectivity, the next you're looking at Android or PC applications, or figuring out how something works through reverse engineering. So yes, this is one of those roles where curiosity is actually useful.
There is a lot of room to take ownership, work independently and contribute ideas to improve both products and processes. If you like having real influence instead of being one tiny function in a giant codebase, this could be a good fit.
What will you be doing?
- Developing and modifying embedded software
- Working with C++, microcontrollers, communication protocols and RTOS
- Contributing to Android applications in Kotlin and PC applications in C#
- Implementing Bluetooth and Wi-Fi communication
- Analyzing and investigating systems, including reverse engineering
- Supporting projects and independently handling your own projects
- Contributing to the design and realization of products from start to finish
What are we looking for?
- Experience with C++, Kotlin and C#
- Experience with bug fixing and implementing new features
- A practical mindset and the ability to work independently
Benefits & conditions
- A salary of up to €80K per year
- Travel allowance
- Laptop
- 38 vacation days
- Holiday allowance
- A good pension scheme
- employment terms in line with the CAO Metaal en Techniek
