Job description
- As a Container Platform Engineer, you design, manage, and optimize Jumbo's Kubernetes platform on Amazon EKS. You implement GitOps, security policies, and automation using Terraform, Helm, and Kustomize to create scalable and secure container environments.
- By building a reliable and secure container platform, you ensure applications are deployed quickly and stably. This supports Jumbo's digital innovation and contributes to an optimal customer experience.
- You work in the Container Platform team at the headquarters in Veghel. Together with cloud engineers, developers, and security specialists, you create infrastructure that supports more than 60 DevOps teams.
- You collaborate with domain-specific cloud engineering teams, DevOps teams, and security partners to deliver secure, scalable container solutions and integrations with AWS services and Infrastructure as Code practices., As a Container Platform Engineer at Jumbo, you'll design, operate, and optimize our container platform based on Kubernetes and Amazon EKS. You'll ensure reliability, security, and scalability while collaborating with development and DevOps teams to enable fast and efficient application delivery. Your responsibilities include:
- You'll manage Kubernetes clusters in production, including upgrades, migrations, and troubleshooting.
- You'll configure and maintain EKS architecture, implement GitOps deployment patterns, and enforce security policies.
- You'll also work with tools like Karpenter, Cilium, CoreDNS, Kyverno, and External Secrets Operator.
- You are integrating AWS services and Infrastructure as Code practices using Terraform, Helm, and Kustomize.
You'll join the Container Platform team at our Veghel headquarters, working closely with developers, cloud engineers, and security specialists in an informal, collaborative environment that values initiative and innovation.

Requirements
- Strong experience with Kubernetes and Amazon EKS in production
- Skilled in GitOps, Helm, Kustomize, and IaC tools like Terraform
- Familiar with AWS services (e.g: EC2, VPC, IAM, ALB/NLB)
- Knowledge of networking (Cilium experience is a major plus!), RBAC, and container security
- Experience with observability tools (we use mostly Datadog, and tiny bits of Grafana and Prometheus)
- Proficient in scripting and troubleshooting complex distributed systems

- A gross salary between €5.700 - €7.100 per month (based on 40 hours).
