Job description

We are hiring a Junior React Developer to help us build internal tools and client interfaces that support our management advisory work. This role supports our work with a Dutch financial technology group, helping them modernize their internal reporting through clean, functional code. You will work closely with our advisors to turn structural management habits into simple digital dashboards that are easy for busy teams to use. This is a full-time, remote position intended for someone who is at the start of their career in web development., Olive Tree Consulting focuses on the space between strategy and daily execution. For our current partnership with a Dutch fintech group, we are developing lightweight tools that help managers track ownership and log decisions effectively. The Junior React Developer will help us build these components and maintain the user interface. Your work ensures that the data our advisors collect is presented in a clear, usable format that requires no training to understand. Because we value clarity over complex features, your focus will be on writing clean code and creating intuitive layouts.

What You Will Do

  • Build reusable React components for internal management dashboards and reporting tools.
  • Update user interfaces based on feedback from our advisory team and fintech clients.
  • Connect frontend components to simple APIs to display real-time updates for ongoing projects.
  • Write clear documentation for the code you create to ensure others can follow your work.
  • Test web interfaces across different browsers to maintain visual consistency and performance.
  • Participate in code reviews to learn best practices and improve your technical proficiency.
  • Collaborate with designers to turn visual concepts into functioning web applications.
  • Refactor older code to make it more readable and maintainable over time.
  • Help troubleshoot small bugs or layout issues as they arise in the browser., This is a permanent, full-time role that is entirely remote, allowing you to work from the environment that suits you best. The position is paid, and the compensation is attractive and competitive for an entry-level developer in this market. We provide a space where you can learn by doing, working on real projects that have a direct impact on how our clients operate day to day. You will have regular check-ins with the team to help you grow your skills and understand the relationship between software and management consulting.

Requirements

  • A basic understanding of Javascript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Familiarity with React libraries and a general understanding of how components interact.
  • A logical approach to solving problems and the willingness to ask for help when a task is unclear.
  • High attention to detail, specifically regarding visual consistency and layout spacing.
  • The ability to write clearly about technical concepts for colleagues who are not developers.
  • A preference for simple solutions rather than over-engineering features.
  • Self-discipline to manage your time and tasks effectively in a fully remote setup.

Helpful Background

  • Personal projects or a portfolio that shows your ability to build functional web pages.
  • Experience using Git for version control in a team or solo environment.
  • Exposure to modern web development tools like Vite, NPM, or Yarn.
  • A basic understanding of how to manage state within a React application.
  • An interest in how organizations function and how software can support better management habits.

About the company

Olive Tree Consulting Group is a focused advisory practice that helps leadership teams solve recurring management issues. We typically work on the space between strategy and daily execution. A team can have very capable people and still find that decisions keep reopening, priorities stall, or responsibility remains unclear. These are rarely personality problems: they are structural habits that have not kept up with the company's growth. We favor practical changes over large-scale transformation programs. Our work involves looking at how decisions are made, how meetings are run, and how ownership is recorded. We prefer useful written notes and clear ownership over polished presentations and vague alignment. Good advisory work should make things plainer and leave the team with a rhythm they can continue on their own. The firm is built on the principle that memory is not a management system. We help teams create the smallest possible written record to support their work so that important follow-up does not depend on who was in the room or who has the best memory. The goal is a quieter management pattern that makes the existing work easier to lead.
