Job description
We're looking for a Frontend Developer who thrives on translating high-fidelity designs and clear acceptance criteria into polished, performant, and accessible digital experiences. At DEPT®, your work will directly shape the frontlines of global digital platforms - where visual excellence, responsiveness, and accessibility matter. You'll work alongside multidisciplinary teams to create frontends that meet today's standards and tomorrow's expectations., * Translate tickets and acceptance criteria into functional, testable components using React, Tailwind CSS, and TypeScript.
- Build interfaces from Figma designs with high visual accuracy and attention to pixel perfection.
- Develop responsive layouts and components that adapt elegantly across devices and breakpoints.
- Ensure all components are accessible and inclusive, meeting WCAG 2.2 AA compliance standards.
- Optimize UIs for Core Web Vitals (LCP, CLS, INP) and other performance metrics.
- Contribute to and maintain shared component libraries and frontend standards.
- Collaborate with designers, QA, and backend developers to validate requirements and ship features.
- Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders alike, translating complex topics into simple, understandable terms.
- Work with AI and agentic tooling as part of your daily workflow, continuously exploring new ways to work smarter and deliver faster.
- Follow clean coding practices like DRY, KISS, and component reuse to keep the codebase scalable and maintainable.
- Great to have: Working knowledge of Framer Motion, GSAP, ThreeJS, or other animation frameworks
Requirements
The way we work is changing fast. We're looking for someone who embraces that - who is open to AI-assisted and agentic ways of working, eager to pick up new skills, and motivated to be a frontrunner rather than wait for the dust to settle. We care less about whether you already know every tool today and more about your appetite to adapt and help shape how the team builds next., * 5+ years of experience building frontend applications, preferably in agency or multi-project environments. That said, we're open to strong engineers from adjacent disciplines (backend, full stack, and beyond) who are excited to focus on the frontend and bring a broader perspective to the team.
- Fluency in React, Tailwind CSS, and TypeScript, with strong attention to detail and usability.
- A sharp eye for detail, you notice the small things in design, interaction, and code that make the difference between good and great.
- High working proficiency in both Dutch and English.
- Knowledge on how to bring Figma designs to life, down to the last pixel - but know when perfection gives way to pragmatism.
- Ability to build fully responsive UIs that look and behave well on all modern devices and browsers.
- Understanding of optimization for Core Web Vitals and real-world performance benchmarks.
- Ability to apply WCAG 2.2 AA standards - including semantic markup, keyboard accessibility, and visual contrast.
- Passion for UI quality, maintainability, and collaborating with designers and backend engineers.
- Application of clean code principles like DRY, KISS, and modularity to your work.
- Strong communication skills, you can explain difficult concepts in an easy, accessible way to stakeholders across the business.
- An open, curious mindset toward AI, agentic development, and new ways of working, and the willingness to keep learning in and outside your craft so you can stay ahead of the curve.
- Clear communication and contribution to a healthy, collaborative team dynamic.
