We're looking for an enthusiastic Devops Engineer to join Albert Heijn's Store Infra Engineering team within Albert Heijn's platform for Store and Supply Chain technology. Someone who combines technical experience with genuine passion for system engineering and the ability to elevate our fellow engineers. Someone who is also not afraid of the challenge of Albert Heijn with our ±200.000 devices across all our Stores
In this role, you will work in a complex hybrid environment (cloud and on-premise systems) part of the IT infrastructure of our stores. With a DevOps approach you will contribute to automating the management of devices and software in stores using our standard DevOps tooling. You will contribute to building and maintaining a robust and manageable infrastructure of compute, network and mobile devices (Android, Apple etc) to ensure reliability and security in our store environment.
Next to that you will also be part of our (wider) engineering journey to transform to a Edge compute-based platform in our Stores to enable our colleagues to work fully cloud native in the Stores to further enhance our reliability, security and speed of innovation in our digital store.

We are hiring someone with a cloud and DevOps engineering mindset willing to work in a complex Store IT infrastructure and systems environment of the biggest retailer in the Netherlands. Somebody who likes to solve engineering problems but also think along of the business problems we are solving how to enable store innovation at scale while still ensuring the non-functional requirements are met.
As part of the team, you will be doing:
- Using our available MDM tooling to build automation for operations at scale
- Engineer security policies for devices to ensure our technology estate is properly hardened
- Using (additional) infrastructure-as-code for additional automation in our large infrastructure environment
- Leveraging Git and GitOps based WoW to enable a DevOps approach of managing our environment
- Drive observability and monitoring using standard tooling such as Grafana and Loki to improve system visibility
- Seek to continuously improve processes and technologies to increase reliability and security of in-store devices
- Cooperate with your team and other stakeholders on improvements and stability of in-store devices
- Help establish a clear end-to-end view of environments and dependencies

- Experience in Azure or other public cloud including infrastructure-as-code automation
- Experience in Intune for mobile device management (at scale)
- Experience with PowerShell, Graph API, and automation
- Experience with Linux environments.
- Understanding of APIs and REST services.
- Understanding of networking infrastructures and protocols
- Understanding of GitHub, GitHub Actions, and CI/CD practices
- Understanding of monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana and Prometheus.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, containers, and modern platform technologies.
- A proactive, solution-driven mindset with the ability to work independently and deliver results.
