Job description
The IT Data Project Manager role is to plan, manage and support the Data team to sift and prioritise the demands coming from data domain owners covering a wide range of data consuming services and delivering these into a production state.
What will you deliver?
- Lead the delivery of data projects; primarily focused on New Demands and associate product support ensuring successful information gathering, scoping and documentation.
- Assist data domain owners to prioritise their demands (with respect to available capacity) and help write acceptance criteria that assure the benefits to the owner
- Resolve blockers that require resource from outside the core team
- Coordinate technical activities deployment and support within the Data team and interdependencies with the Demand team or stakeholders.
- Apply structured governance and delivery management across agile and waterfall approaches, ensuring scope, milestones and acceptance criteria are met.
- Provide transparent reporting to stakeholders and steering groups, maintaining dashboards, RAID logs and financial tracking.
- Create and maintain business and technical project risk & issue logs showing evidence of containment and contingency actions you have taken
- Seek out alternative suppliers, lead on reviews of 3rd party proposals and contribution to negotiations involving 3rd party services to provision cost effective solutions for projects where required
Requirements
- Proven experience delivering complex IT projects, ideally involving application transformation and security components.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Hands-on experience with both agile and waterfall delivery methods; familiarity with Jira/SPM and MS 365 toolset.
- Desirable knowledge of Data Reporting Tools such as PowerBI and Palantir
- Experience coordinating technical testing, change, release and transition activities.
- Clear, logical and rigorous thinker with strong attention to detail.
- Confident self-starter who takes initiative and drives decisions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication; builds trusted relationships.
- Organised, efficient and resilient under pressure.
