What will you be doing?
- Take technical ownership of a critical service delivered to a major strategic customer.
- Provide daily operational support for incidents, service requests and problem tickets.
- Contribute to projects through technical input and service delivery.
- Act as the on-site technical expert and primary point of contact for the customer.
- Build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels, both internally and within the customer organisation.
- Deliver a best-in-class support service during and, where required, outside normal working hours.
- Monitor and manage data networks and associated systems.
- Provide 2nd line support for fault resolution and network changes.
- Deliver 2nd/3rd line technical support and assist with resolving complex network issues.
- Support complex technical delivery activities in line with customer SLAs.
- Actively participate in customer governance meetings and review cycles.
- Manage complex technology and solution-based incidents.
- Carry out root cause analysis for major incidents and escalated faults.
- Troubleshoot, resolve and monitor faults within a complex data network environment.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN networks and Cisco technologies, including TCP/IP, MPLS, QoS, VLANs, BGP, VRFs, OSPF and HSRP.
- Understanding of network security best practices.
- Extensive experience in a complex operational or technical delivery environment.
- Strong knowledge of multi-technology solutions and dependent technologies.
- Experience staging, configuring and deploying network devices.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical information to customers and colleagues., * Full SC Security Clearance, or the ability to obtain it.
- Cisco CCNA (LAN/WAN) certification or 5+ years' relevant experience.
- Good understanding of ITIL methodologies and best practices.
