Senior Infrastructure Engineer

• Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable IT infrastructure across multiple sites.
• Support enterprise networking, virtualisation, server infrastructure, and Microsoft Azure cloud services.
• Lead the technical delivery of infrastructure projects, including upgrades, migrations, and new technology implementations.
• Act as the senior technical escalation point for complex infrastructure issues and major incidents.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement long-term improvements to increase resilience and performance.
• Support disaster recovery planning, business continuity testing, and infrastructure resilience initiatives.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand technical requirements and deliver robust infrastructure solutions.
• Collaborate with third-party vendors and service providers to support infrastructure services and project delivery.
• Ensure infrastructure complies with security best practice and standards including ISO 27001, GDPR, and Cyber Essentials.
• Identify opportunities to modernise infrastructure through automation, cloud adoption, and emerging technologies.

• Significant experience in senior infrastructure engineering or technical infrastructure roles.
• Strong expertise across Microsoft infrastructure, networking, virtualisation, and enterprise systems administration.
• Proven experience with Microsoft Azure and hybrid cloud environments.
• Experience supporting VMware environments.
• Strong understanding of enterprise networking, storage, backup, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Experience delivering infrastructure projects from design through to implementation.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues.
• Knowledge of infrastructure security, patch management, and vulnerability remediation.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes and change management principles is beneficial.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
• Desirable certifications include Microsoft Azure certifications, VMware certifications, CompTIA Security+, and ITIL Foundation or equivalent.
