Job description

  • We will have you architect and implement infrastructure solutions that address operational bottlenecks and broad business requirements.
  • We will have you independently research technical details and design highly effective infrastructure solutions for our creative teams.
  • We will have you lead the migration of on-premises workloads to the cloud, selecting the best-fit platform from AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • We will have you use infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and Ansible to build, automate, and scale infrastructure.
  • We will have you oversee and optimize compute and rendering infrastructure for high-end VFX and broadcast graphics workflows.
  • We will have you manage, troubleshoot, and optimize a mixed operating system environment across Windows, macOS, and Linux.
  • We will have you research, test, and evaluate new technologies to improve media production workflows and system reliability.
  • We will have you collaborate with internal technology teams and external partners to deliver robust, scalable technology that meets modern security and networking requirements.

Requirements

  • We need a proactive, self-starting engineer who can take an idea or problem, define the technical requirements, and drive the solution to completion.
  • We need hands-on experience with major cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, along with a strong understanding of cloud architectural best practices.
  • We need professional experience with infrastructure deployment and configuration management tools, ideally Terraform and Ansible, plus practical knowledge of working with REST APIs.
  • We need strong systems administration skills across Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems.
  • We need a solid understanding of core networking protocols and modern IT security best practices.
  • We need excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical information clearly to both technical colleagues and non-technical creative stakeholders.
  • We need someone personable, approachable, and able to work closely with end users to understand workflows, troubleshoot issues, and build strong collaborative relationships.
  • Desirable: experience in Media & Entertainment, Broadcast, or Post-Production technical roles.
  • Desirable: familiarity with VFX software pipelines, render farms, and creative tools such as Maxon software packages, Foundry Nuke, Houdini, and VizRT.
  • Desirable: professional knowledge of Hypervisor and VDI platforms.
