Job description

This is an opportunity for an intellectually curious C# Software Engineer to join a high-calibre team where technical excellence is valued and engineers are trusted to influence architecture, design and product direction.

As a senior member of the engineering team, you will design and develop business-critical backend services using modern C# and .Net, working on distributed systems that process large volumes of data with demanding performance and reliability requirements. You'll be involved throughout the software lifecycle, from technical design and architecture through to implementation, optimisation and production delivery, collaborating closely with colleagues who share a passion for building elegant, robust software.

The environment is particularly well suited to engineers with strong computer science foundations who enjoy tackling challenging problems, debating technical approaches and continuously improving both systems and engineering practices.

Requirements

  • You have achieved a minimum 2.1 BSc in Computer Science or similar technical discipline from a top tier / Russel Group university, backed by A's at A-level
  • You have expertise with modern C# and .Net development
  • You have a strong knowledge of software architecture, distributed systems and engineering best practices
  • You have a deep understanding of Computer Science fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, object-oriented design and system design
  • You have a collaborative approach and a genuine enthusiasm for solving difficult technical problems
  • You're able to take ownership of significant technical initiatives and influence engineering direction
  • Experience with Python, data-intensive systems, or financial technology environments would be advantageous but is not essential

Benefits & conditions

Alongside a highly competitive package, you'll gain the opportunity to work on technically demanding systems, collaborate with exceptional engineers, and play a meaningful role in the growth of a business that is still small enough for your contributions to have a visible impact.

  • Salary to £120k + Bonus
  • 25 days holiday
  • Bupa healthcare
  • Generous pension contribution
  • Continuous career development opportunities
  • Social team atmosphere with a range of events and early finish for drinks on Fridays

The role is based full-time in the company's Newcastle headquarters, a modern office environment designed to encourage collaboration, learning and engineering excellence.
