SC Platform Engineer

• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable platform solutions.
• Monitor, manage, and optimise AWS cloud-based resources.

• DevOps, We are hiring an SC Kong Connect Platform Engineer for our teams in Leeds or London, with a hybrid working pattern of 3 days in the office. This is a full-time role with a salary of £75,000 to £85,000 per annum plus excellent benefits. We are seeking an experienced platform engineer to support our cloud and automation environment, working closely with engineering, infrastructure, and product teams to improve deployment, operations, and platform reliability.

• Active Security Clearance (SC) is mandatory.
• 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience as a Senior Platform Engineer with a solid understanding of software engineering principles and their application.
• Experience with Kong Konnect API management systems or a similar platform.
• Experience with scripting and pipeline automation, such as Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
• Strong understanding of AWS cloud services and containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools such as CloudFormation or Terraform.
• Understanding of internet networking fundamentals and traffic flow, including DNS, TLS, routing, VPNs, and edge platforms such as Cloudflare.
• Strong understanding of the Kong Konnect API Platform.
• Experience working closely with development and infrastructure teams to understand requirements and implement solutions.
• Ability to collaborate closely with engineers and product teams, including designers, product managers, and analysts.
• Hands-on experience with CloudFormation scripting, troubleshooting, and debugging.
• Working knowledge of Chef, scripting, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Python scripting and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Jenkins pipelines, multibranch deployments, and Groovy scripting.
• Experience with Linux commands and troubleshooting web services.
• Experience with AWS services such as EC2, NLB, API Gateway, and ASG.
