Job description

We are looking for an experienced Front-End Developer to join our team and help improve and evolve our digital customer experience through front-end development, website optimisation, and usability enhancements.

Working closely with our marketing, creative, technical teams, and external development partners, you will play a key role in delivering commercially effective website experiences that are engaging, accessible, and easy for our customers to use. You will also provide technical guidance and support to junior team members, helping to encourage best practice and continued development.

The main duties include the following:

  • Provide front-end development expertise internally while working with external development agencies to ensure quality, consistency, and technical standards
  • Build, update, and optimise responsive website components across CMS and ecommerce platforms using modern web technologies
  • Enhance customer journeys through improvements to interface design, accessibility, navigation, and page interactions
  • Carry out browser, device, and responsive testing to ensure excellent website performance and user experience
  • Investigate and resolve front-end issues, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Deliver conversion rate optimisation (CRO) activity, including website experiments, UX enhancements, and conversion-focused improvements
  • Work collaboratively with marketing, creative, and technical teams to deliver digital experiences aligned with business objectives
  • Support and mentor junior front-end developers, sharing knowledge and encouraging best practice
  • Contribute to website performance improvements, reusable components, and ongoing digital enhancements

Requirements

We are looking for an excellent communicator with strong front-end development skills, a passion for user experience, and great attention to detail. You will have strong commercial experience with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and responsive development, along with experience developing and maintaining front-end components within CMS and ecommerce platforms.

You will have a strong understanding of UX/UI principles, accessibility standards, responsive design, website performance optimisation, and front-end best practices. Experience with APIs, third-party integrations, front-end frameworks/libraries, version control systems, debugging, and troubleshooting across browsers and devices is essential.

It would be advantageous if you have experience with modern JavaScript frameworks, technical SEO, Core Web Vitals optimisation, analytics implementation including GTM and GA4, testing and deployment tools, design systems, and agile development environments.

Reliable and enthusiastic, you will be highly organised, able to manage competing priorities, confident working with external technical partners, and comfortable using your own initiative to identify improvements and deliver high-quality digital solutions.

This is a full-time position based at our offices, or hybrid or remote (with monthly visits to the office) working as part of a collaborative and supportive Marketing team.
